On car AC's: Too much oil causes the AC to blow hot air. Oil occupies space. When there is too much, you cannot fill the system with the right amount of refrigerant, thus causing warm air to blow out the vents. If you fill with the right amount of refrigerant in such a case, the pressure on Low side and High side BOTH will greatly increase. Perhaps to 75 / 300 for example. If a low refrigerant level gives the right pressure readings, like 35 low, 190 high, and it blows hot air, there is likely too much oil in the system, as there is no safe room for any more refrigerant.

My low pressure is at nearly 70psi with only 1/3 or refrigerant inside the system. I suspect that i used too much oil on the compressor. There is a cold air coming out but not really that cold. Do i recharge with more refrigerant or try empty the oil and pull a vacuum? Is there a way to pull excess oil without losing the refrigerant i already added?
