for the end portal you could have used the 20w14 ∞ snapshot (1.16 i think.) it was an "update" by april fools that means that when you drop the book and quill in a nether portal if that book had something written it would create a random dimension in accordance with what it was written in the book, creating infinite dimensions for minecraft, in one of these dimensions if you used the words "abatised redivides" you would be teleported directly to the End through the nether portal. Just a tip btw.

I'm 100% just pulling this explanation out of my ass, but it's possible that copied books might not fill up the memory the same as manually typed books. You know, seeing as there's a distinction between the types. If not, then whoopsie daisies, but that makes sense to me. Maybe copied books are just references to the original copy stored in memory somewhere? Dunno. EDIT: Apparently I'm wrong, thanks to the few people for letting me know. Apparently each book stores their own seperate NBT data within their own itemstack, so as long as your copied / shadowed items are 1-per-slot, they'll all work for the chunk overloading.

Pinu’s version of this challenge was better, because he really did have just one block - not a chest with extra blocks in it.

I love how no matter how limited your resources are, there is always a way to progress through the game, u just gotta use ur dome a bit

1st time seeing this particular challenge, you are amazing, admitting when you mess u, showing your research and every glitch you made to get to the end was just super entertaining to see. Keep up the great work

Obviously I knew you’d need to break the game a bit to get the end portal and lava, but I expected just a small version change. For those who don't know how to/don't want to switch versions to get the gold, you don't have to: drowned will drop copper. Use the copper to make a lightning rod and put it in a pen with some pigs. Wait for lightning, and the pigs will be turned into zombie-piglins. You can then farm them for gold. Edit: I think in this situation he didn't have grass for the pigs to spawn on, but if you're doing a superflat world or something like that, this works.

Fun fact: if you don't want to break your pinky finger just enable crouch toggling in the accessibility settings, when enabled instead of crouching when holding it pressing shift once will make you crouch and pressing shift a second time makes you uncrouch, no need to hold the shift key

pretty sure its easier to use item shadowing as it would take far less time use to that due to not needed to get the materials for the books and gather the shulkers. its also somewhat exponential allowing you to create 432 books per dupe.

Nah doing that connects all the books into a single book's worth of memory so they need to all be typed out individually

In reality, a Spanish youtuber managed to survive on a block, the trick was to look for a biome where it would just snow, wait for night to fall and hopefully a zombie with a shovel would appear, that's how he got blocks of snow and etc., it's called MRhugo, that man is the reincarnation of patience

You could fill the books faster with Ctrl+A Ctrl+C Ctrl+V. That way each press of Ctrl+V will give you several characters, not just one.

Yes pinu’s one block vanilla happened a whole year before this guy used the idea and he didnt use a starting chest for his first block making his attempt in my opinion a whole lot harder

So the answer is no.. you can't do it with one block. Using a chest with blocks inside of it nullifies the entire thing.

well, no. the chest itself is 1 block. even if it was a chest with 30 stacks of diamonds it would still be just 1 block.

I like how Mudflaps is willing to edit the game if progression is impossible. Very realistic.

I’m just kind blown, you use literally only the vanilla Minecraft to the fullest to complete the goal with so so so much things I never knew were possible, just amazing, your creativity is unrivaled

Pinu did it with a dirt block, not a bonus chest. Bonus chest has been done numerous times, but a dirt block as far as I know only once.

I did a challenge like this a year back but I started on the standard skyblock island with no more than a lava bucket and an ice block and I discarded the bucket right after making the generator (I did spawn with a tree because I'm not a masochist) I went on for like 50 hours on that world and I made a slime farm and was about to make a gold farm but I needed magma blocks then tried making a magma cube and for that I needed wither roses so I went to make a wither skeleton farm but apparently inside the whole 1024 chunk perimeter the map I originally used as a template did not have a single fortress bounding box, and the only one there was was inside newly generated chunks with... blocks in it. and so I gave up on the world after spending 60 hours making farms for basically everything I could all because there wasn't a bounding box I tried carpet mod to spawn structures in but it doesn't spawn them with the bounding box so it's useless if anyone knows how to generate a structure bounding box I'd love to hear it

Ok thats on a level that it doesent even need to be hardcore anymore, I would be impressed just by you saying the strat lol

Do you create a backup your world file every now and then so don't lose all progress if things go terribly wrong?

You didn't need to do the chunk thing. You can get to the end using April fools updates. The "One Block at a Time" update has end portal blocks in nether fortress chests and the 20w14∞ snapshot you could throw certain books into nether portals which could send you to different dimensions with some of them just being the overworld with different coloring and those had strongholds with endportals.

I think you can just copy books? If u put book and quill in the crafting table near a written book, it will make a copy of that book

when you were stuck and filling up books you could've went back to the 1.16 april fools update which lets you go to custom dimensions and you would've gotten an end portal from that which is wayyyy easier than whatever you did

The KZreadr Pinu did a REAL one block Skyblock. No bonus chest. Just 1 block that doesn't respawn. And he made it, it's really cool to watch

but he proved that it wasn't possible. He used a glitch to spawn a chunk of the world back in -- so it was only possible using 1 block + 1 entire chunk. Impressive game knowledge up to the moon exploit, sure, but imo as soon as you change the game version you've forfeited the challenge. You might as well manipulate the code yourself to get whatever you need.
