We have been trying to get the engine in our almost 30 year old RV to run cooler since we bought her. She still has relatively low miles at 60k. If you know anything about big block V8's, you know they last a lot longer if you can keep them cool. The problem is that the fan clutch that was on her was extremely lazy. Sometimes it wouldn't come on until just before the needle got to overheating. Steven would regulate the temps by turning the rear heaters on which would help to bring down the temps. But it was always anxiety inducing keeping an eye on the temp gauge when we were stuck in any traffic. We are finally getting around to replacing that fan clutch. I think it was put off for so long because of how much of a pain it is to get to. This is another one of those jobs where it is easy to see what you have to work on, but near impossible to actually get to it. So if you have an older gas RV and you would like to make sure that it stays cool and runs well for as long as possible we hope this video finds you and can help you out a little.
