With all the talk and recent resurgence in skating anti-rocker lately we thought we’d give it a go. Nathan’s been blading anti-rocker for a while on the Razors Shima with the FLT3 frames which come with those plastic straight-to-axel antis so he’s been used to it but Jim and James hadn’t. Jim’s using the Gawds antis while James has just got a set of the new Dark Mage 3D printed ones. What’s the verdict? Watch to find out.

Rollers Return tracks the journey of a few old 35+ year old guys getting back into aggressive inline skating after an 18 year hiatus. The group has already grown to 4 of us, but we know a lot of the older blading community has returned as a result of lockdowns, midlife crises and disposable income.

Haha thanks mate! It did make me skate a bit better weirdly. More so on turning as I’ve got lazy/shit with a flat set up. Weirdly I felt less skittish! Go figure. But yeh good sesh. Next time bro!

Great episode! I noticed Rachard Johnson rocks anti on his Aeons. Gonna be riding my Aeons flat. Anti just feels strange to me.

Yeah, Aeons were made for flat for sure, and I’ll probably go back, one of my problems is lazy turning on ramps, kinda turn/carve my feet rather actually jumping and turning. Most noticeable on transitions, this made me keep my feet straight and together and turn them with a jump rather than rolling round. So for now it’s forcing me to skate better. But I’m hoping to go back to flat eventually.

Yes… which I mention in the description of the video! I think you mean it is unnecessary? I was experimenting and found the only real benefit was actually in my skating, as it forced me to be more deliberate with how I was placing my feet etc. in terms of grinding, the antirocker advantage wasn’t necessarily felt.
