Brings back memories of my time in the Army.. drove the cargo an dump versions of that rig 🤘🏼🤠🤘🏼🤠 Dang the memories
Just finished the JH Diesels video. Let's go!
I’m glad you make these kinds of videos I love the older trucks
A friend of mine bought one of those military flatbed trucks and grafted a real nice 5th wheel onto the back of it and it makes one bad ass SHTF overlander let me tell ya he painted the 5th wheel up the same grey black as the truck body it looks so nice and it would take you anywere and live nice once you get there wherever that may be✌❤🙏2u@yours sir love the positiveness in your content 💯👍
That's awesome! I watch JH's channel and heard you talk about them. Came here to watch more of them. Great Job as always!
That's the kinda vlog I personally would like to see all o the time . Can't beat trouble shooting on the road loading unknown cargo . Top vlog Tim n many thanx I used to be a driver picking up majority of my trucks from auctions and every one was different ,lol
‘Top of the line mechanic’ gets in, flips a couple switches, pushes starter button, and truck does nothing….. “Welp, that’s all I got!”
Those are Stewart & Stevenson trucks, the one with a fifth wheel is m1088a1 and it is powered by one of the worst caterpillar engines ever made which is known as a 3126. Almost all military vehicles are equipped with 12/24 volt electrical systems for commonality and the ability to jump start any other vehicle. They use the nato standard 12/24 slave cable system. The 3126 is the huei update to the 3116 so those have a similar fuel injection system as a 7.3 powerjoke which requires engine oil pressure through a high pressure oil pump to act against a intensifier piston in the injector to create high pressure fuel.

🇺🇸 Hey, I didn’t know that Cat ever made a bad engine! LOL. Just trying some humor. I love Cat engines and the only bad one I’ve seen is when they mutilated the engine and blew it up. That’s a bad one. 😳

The 3126 was junk indeed especially the earlier models where your high pressure hose was prone to disintegrating and making a mess through the engine compartment. That being said, the MUI 3116 was actually a pretty good motor overall, you just have to know how to sync the injectors. The marine models (3116-TA) weren't known as the best (some overhead issues and the occasional dropped valve or spun crank bearings) but most of the other model 3116s were really good. In fact, these old military trucks used to be 3116 before the 3126 came into play.

@@the.porter.productions The 3208 is actually a bigger pile of crap then the 3116 and 3126.
I always loved them trucks because in my mind they could go anywhere an won't get stuck. Them things are everything u could ask for an more 💪🏾💪🏾 An i think the new driver going to be pretty good with the ole Pete

Yeah no they get stuck…a lot and the drive train likes to break a lot too
Tim is the man!!!! Thanks for all the help with getting these trucks to me
The 1st one you started is an LMTV and they are very top heavy so they will roll over easy!! Fun to drive but easy on the coners!! Most military vehicles have the ability to adjust the tire pressure.
I bought several of the old 6x6s for my trucking company. Used them to haul in and out of the Gold and Molybdenum mines in Colorado and the copper mines in Montana..

Hopefully you got paid by the hour not the load
You need to ger you some red towels to put over all of the carpet in that truck to protect your red carpet and it will be a lot easier to keep clean. Also just got my shirt in the mail yesterday and love it thanks
Safe travels trucking Tim
Good morning buddy be safe out there hope all your family are doing great see you soon
Great video Tim
"They're a little upset, their home just fired up!" :-D

Awesome looking trucks you r hauling Tim
The whole family is lucky to have a hardworking man like yourself Tim, God bless ya, and thanks for sharing.
Great job enjoyed it was something to see.
I drove those in the army. Big fun right there. Faster than my HMMWV was lol
I did not know you could buy used military trucks like that ...that's cool you have a job doing that !
Dude I love your 379 Pete it’s badass
Hey man hope everything’s going well and your keeping the rubber side down my grandpa was a truck driver for 47 years and I recently decided to go into the field looking into flatbed and gravel hauling eaither way good seeing you do what you love hope the ls mustang is running well last time I saw it y’all were still workin on it or the battery was dead I can’t remember
Congrats on 100k subs! Only up from here
Are y'all ever looking for drivers out of state. Someone that is willing to do stops or pickups in the NYC area ? I know alot of drivers in the southern area don't like going there or running the New England area. Not trying to get a job with y'all because of the KZread stuff, just hate working for these big companies that treat you like theres 20 people behind you waiting to take your place. I have 20+ years driving and no accidents, dui's or even tickets on my license. Only time I ever got a ticket in a big truck was one time @15 years ago I was parked along with about 10 other trucks parked on the side of I78 in north Jersey sleeping. Alot of guys always parked there to sleep because it's like the first place you can fit a truck outside the city area and they popped all the trucks there that night. Anyways if you are looking reply back and I'll get ahold of y'all off here.
Awesome video
Tim it would be cool to see you and your brother do a cat rebuild from the ground up
Almost at 100k subscribers great job.
Porter greetings. 🤩They’re not like the older 50s-80s military trucks…REO, Studebaker, Kaiser and GMCs. But they do look pretty tough. I don’t know anything about them. I’ve read some of the comments..Top heavy, Bad Cat engines, etc. You got them loaded and that’s what counts. Shocking that you didn’t have enough binders, but it does happen…and you had 10 minutes to get them on. You must’ve chained them down outside of the gate. 🧐 How did you scratch your truck? You will have to show it. Have a safe trip! 🤩✌️
They are cool!!! Wish I could have seen them
Your welcome to deliver it here. I have a 1955 international 6x6.
Tim great video. Sux that your truck got scratched
Epic video Tim
Safe travels big guy
The tandem flat bed is an FMTV. They are top heavy as well.
I am a vet I went to Vietnam and got assigned to retrieval I had to go out in the field and get these trucks running it was a major pain in the ass but once you worked on a few then the rest of it was a piece of cake silliest stuff can you stop that thing from running but you guys figured it out pretty quick safe trip my friend

Now we worked on basically the old Jeeps and the old Chevrolets and a very few dodges
I've always said I want a truck like that, then people ask, where would you park it, I say, anywhere I like.
You gotta get yourself one of those military semis
Great video as usual and different Keep safe from an old Jock ex truckie
Your Aired up. They got a step deck ramp. He pulled them off our trailer with the loader. If you run out of air you can simply air it up in the front or rear. Time is money in trucking
Looks like fun!
Good job man
Jh content coming let’s see who he pulls
Tm your a good man
That’s a LMTV, that air system you was talking about is the central tire inflation system or CTIS for short.
Get well soon Huddy
Thats spare is brand new!!
U can get two of them on no problem back the first one on then pull the other one on i have a 18,000 pound winch on my trailer for them when they want start lol
If you pull the jumper cables off and it dies and that means one thing and one thing only the alternator is not charging
Old truck drivers never die they just get new pete's

They started replacing the older 900 series trucks with those in 98 if I remember correctly my unit was one of the first ones to start getting them, So the older ones are almost 25 years old now
Let the air out of the tires and it wont ride so high on the step deck
I love the OSh Kosh tank haulers.. they have way more balls to them and winches as well on the back end. Seen those on the gold miner show with Tony Beets.

that's the HET , they are pretty cool ,,i work for a farm here in iowa that has one , and that monster will drag anything ,but don't expect to get anywhere fast cause it's MAX speed is 48MPH with that 8V-92 screaming at 2400 RPM

@@wildcoyote34 the newer models have a c-18 pushing 800hp and they can’t go past 55 or you have to let the tires cool down for 3 hours

@@jacelee343 i don't think i want to drive it any faster , the one that triple S farms has does NOT have the original 8V-92 ,it's some bastard cummins that started it's life as a generator engine ,,i think it's a V8 i that it's not a 555 cause it's got 2 turbos
You should get u that m1070 8x8 oshkosh that u posted a pic of on ur Instagram that thing was sweet I've got a buddy that has one he pulls his vermeer HG8000 Horizontal grinder with it
No end of junk to be hauled around with this crew..... lol
They are called slave cables by the way very handy
Your so close to 100k subs
Watch u get the Pete back fully customized
I had a license to drive both of those trucks when I was in the military and it is called a slave cable
Slave cables used them all the time when I was in the army tanks trucks Jeep’s it don’t matter. Starts then all.
Isn’t it amazing that the problem was just some starter cables messed up but yet they had it in the system as no fuel pressure or whatever it was lol

Hello TRUCKING family
mtv is what thay r with c12 or c13 cats in them thay r fun to play with lol
These big old Army trucks need 24v to crank and 12v to run them.
Been wanting the 4x4 for years now, but afraid of those costs for tires, fuel, and maintenance costs.
geet well to hudson hope he feels betteer soon
When are you gonna put GoPros on your truck so we can see you hauling the load?!
16:45 On the left side of the screen, just to the left of the "lifting hook", there is a man hydraulic pump valve(like on bottle Jack's or eng hoists), u can use that in replace of the electric pump. Set ur valves(cab tilt, etc) & jack away, but its a pain in the ASS!! Just fyi.
Show us the scratch Tim!
Goonzquad has one of those!
Tim how'd your truck get scratched
The connector you were using to power us the trucks is called a NATO SLAVE socket it will start or power up any vehicle within the NATO treaty partner fleets we use them over hear in the uk to bump start our military trucks when there batteries are flat
No emissions on military rigs , would love to have a old Freightline 6x6

Does this place a any truck mounted cranes ?
You fix that one that’s a top-notch mechanic couldn’t fix 10 minutes you can have that transmission fixed in five and then turn it up 1000hp easy😂😂😂😂😂😂
It probably a 3116 cat and there junk but with those trucks you’ll never put enough miles on it to find out
Seen JH's video earlier
where did you scratch your truck at?
we call them booster cables, slave cables
motorpool mondays were not fun at all. these trucks were broker than 90% of the soldiers in my unit.
Where is the Air Force truck n what’s the update with it
Nice

Slave ports save lives sometimes. But some people get offended when you use the term slave port Bec they don’t have any idea what a slave port is
Did anybody here Tim say what auction site these trucks were on ???????
