This series was brilliant. I don't know why but to me this was more authentic than many car revivals. The kit was old and designed for the job it had to do but worked. So wholesome that that old farmer took the time to help you learn how to properly farm and operate the combine. That’s why I love em, truly something lost in todays generation!
You guys are living the life. Enjoying your farm videos. Brings us back to a time when life was hard but everyone loves what they do.
In fairness, any profit, on your first go, from scratch - that's awesome. Really enjoyed this series! Would love to see you do it again next year.
This has been a wonderful series, I hope you do it again next season.
You helping during the fire goes to show how important community is.
I have been so impressed with this entire agricultural series. Not only have you taught many of us city dwellers more than we ever knew about agriculture, but you actually succeeded in growing and harvesting an impressive field of corn. Moby impressed, to use ancient slang.

I have no desire to grow a field of corn, but this video is pretty interesting. The complexity of the machine and how well it works to harvest very quickly is amazing.
I am 12 years old and I always love seeing old machinery work.
Fantastic that you got the corn in! Its interesting to see the difference between farming here (Wales, mainly livestock/sheep) and farming in North America, even if your cornfield was a bit on the "compact" side! I'd love to see more farming content next year, with a polite request for more Ford tractor content!

Yes! I grew up with two Ford tractors, a 1956 Powermaster with a front-end loader and a Dodge Powerwagon front axle, and a 1958 Workmaster, and lots of implements, used them daily and learned to drive on them. Very distinctive sound, different from most other tractors of the day. My family needed the money and sold them while I was overseas. I've missed them ever since!
You have very cool farm neighbor friends. And you running off to defend your neighbors against fire. That just proves you are in the right place and you are a good neighbor too. Kevin, I am envous of country life stuck here in the city. It's hard work but I miss it. Love the video congrats on your harvest.

I'm glad to hear that the combine and corn harvest turned out good. I remember sitting in my uncle's John Deere combine back in 1970. He farmed just outside of North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He suggested I tie up a rope to lean on and clean the front windscreen of it. I was 10 yrs. old, not much of a knot tyer and scared of falling, so I took the safe route and stuck to cleaning just the inside of the window. My cousin still lives there on the property but I believe is pretty much retired from farming. I enjoy you guys videos. BTW, I have a 96 F-250 4x4 automatic, extended cab, 351 W project truck that I bought last December. It runs and drives but I've done quite a few mechanical things to it to bring it up to better status. I'm amuzed at how so many shops in Kansas City really don't like to work on the older trucks . Parts can be a challenge to find sometimes as well. I can't seem to find good brake dust covers anywhere local. Also, there's a spring that goes into the parking brake that I believe even the Ford factory diagram has in the wrong position. Have a nice November and Thanksgiving! Rick
I think it's so great that you're helping a neighbor like this. Heating our homes is gonna be hard enough this year. You made it a little easier for one person. Way to give back. 😁👍

I'm honestly impressed any of this worked nearly as well as it did, considering more than half the equipment sat outside for years, one had a seized engine, lots of rust working through and clogging various lines, etc. Goes to show just how resilient older equipment can be, and what a bit of hard work, dedication, assistance from friends and neighbors, and stubbornness can do to get abandoned and forgotten machines fully(ish) functional again. It was great fun watching it from start to finish!
Good video series, you got to wrench on stuff you don't normally and got to help out a neighbor. Mike seemed glad to teach you and give a hand.
So after a season, it looks like you guys did really well, all things considered. Watching the planting process, I never had much hope for any corn. You guys did well, hope you do it again next season 🤙🏻

As a farmer that's not seen any other footage from this channel. The most impressive part is how weed free the fields were. I farm in south Texas and it gets harder by the minute to keep unwanted pests at bay. Never run one of the old 55's, but i did get to see one harvest corn before it went to rest forever. Amazing the job those old machines did.
Really loved the farmyard digs episodes. Please keep em going each year so we can see the changes year on year. Well done everyone.
As someone who found your channel through the little car you picked up from Cole the Cornstar it was awesome watching you farm this year. This was a great series. I love your normal content though. The $410 profit is about right for farming...it's a business with a lot of cash flow but very little of it sticks around.

That man is truly private and does not try to sell you anything.( Omaze by the way is a scam see what cleetus McFarland has to say about it.)
Oh man, this has been a terrific series from start to finish! I hope you do it again next year!
Made the front page local paper awhile back getting an international 403 on propane combine to get a 9610 out of a bind before a hurricane hit. Even unloaded on the go. Put extensions on the auger and hopper. Truckers were laughing when the tractor and auger cart was bigger than the combine. Pretty smooth running machine that dropped very little grain. Only thing it didn't have a Worley bird on the radiator screen. Had to get out and wipe it off when the engine temp started climbing. This video brings back old teenage memories.
Excellent series and a welcome change from the usual will-it-run content. I'm awarding you top honors - 5 Jalapeños! Cheers, from San Antonio, Texas!

I love the farming stuff. I grew up on a farm in Nebraska back in the 80s-90s now that im old in indiana i send these videos to my dad and we enjoy the heck outta them.
The Joh Deere model 55 combine was one of the simple straightforward machines of the 1960s. My uncle had two of them. If the old flathead engine was stuck, pull the plugs and pour in some Marvell Mistry Oil. If that didn't work, pull the head, put a piece of 2 X 4 into the bore and slug it with a sledgehammer, break that piston loose, slap some gasket sealer back onto the gasket, bolt the head back on and start it up. It would usually stop smoking after a while and run the full harvest time. I ran on in maize grain and never looked back. It had a little trash with the grain and dropped a little out the back. But it worked and didn't cost much to run. Best choice of an old machine. For a sixty-year-old machine, she is doing great. Well maintained.
I love the farm episodes. You guys are doing exactly what I would like to do when I buy a couple acres. No need for new equipment when you only have four to10 acres of land to work, and who cares if it's gasoline as long as it works. It's very happy to see that old farmer help you guys out with the combine, that's what my dad always told me when he would work on his uncles dairy farm in Pennsylvania, all the farmers would help each other out

Besides the Satellite you brought back to life with Luke and the first F250 from way back, this is my favorite JYD series. I'd love to see it next year aswell!
I started watching Junkyard digs for the car stuff, and then the farm stuff came along, it is just as interesting. I have been waiting for the harvest and was not disappointed. A highlight was the combine owner and the in cab views with the owner, Mook and yourself. Keep up the good work.
It was rewarding to see the 55 take out the corn. My uncle had a model like that. First combine he purchased, brings back tons of memories. It appears the old gal is in pretty good condition. Nice to see that old iron still operating, considering the majority of that series has long ago returned to the recycling heap. I was wondering when a combine video was coming. Now what? Tillage? and are you going to do a corn/soybean rotation? Enjoyed the series and the channel!
This video was a “hoot”! I ran a J.D. 105 “Corn Special “ gas combine for a couple of years while on the farm like 45 years ago. Kinda brought back memories guys.
What memories this brings back for me. My dad went back into farming in 1963 when I was 6. He grew corn and beans in East Central Illinois. He farmed 1000 acres that year and harvested all the corn with a JD 45 and a 2 row corn head compared to your 55 and a 3 row head. He finished shortly before Christmas that yr! Thanks for the memories!
Kevin is such an awesome Producer as well as YTer. What a great series.
I love the farm equipment episodes. I hope you continue doing farming projects every year as season allows. Even a basic farming setup seems just astronomically out of reach. These episodes might give hope to people trying to start farming using what they can get their hands on.

I am retired and I want to travel this country in my RV, and this will give me something to look for, your Old farm equipment sitting next to a barn, and as I see where you live I will just wave as I drive by in sheer envy of driving that beautiful old equipment. I always dreamed of being a farmer. Happy farming. 😁😃
Another brilliant series, JYD is the perfect mix right now. Not too pushy with ads and sponsors, and fantastic entertainment. Honestly please don’t change the dynamic - this is better than anything on TV!
I was such a huge fan of this series! This was just the coolest thing ever. I hope you guys definitely do this again!
Awesome series on corn planting and harvest. Loved it and I love old farm equipment as well. After our Massey Super 92 combine rotted away from the inside, It was stripped of "everything combine" and a 12 foot snow blade was added to it and it's been pushing snow now for 14 years. This combine had a cab on it and all it needed was a heater and refreshment holder. It's a site to see and all the neighbors get a laugh when they see my rig rollin snow...lol. Love all the vids, so keep them coming. Cheers from Saskatchewan, Canada.
Seeing old vehicles start up is just such a charm 👍
