Can we cross the UK's 2nd largest city without using a single road?
It's here. Quite possible my maddest mission to date.
Back in April I convinced my poor brother to join me once more as we made an audacious attempt to cross the entire city of Birmingham, from Sandwell in the west over to Solihull in the East, without using and roads or canals.
With more people, more security, more filth and sewage and some of Birmingham's most knife crime ridden housing estates, this one promised to be a serious step up from the already challenging Black Country Mission from back in 2021.
There had to be slightly more leeway whilst crossing roads this time, but some of the shit we had to go through more than makes up for that I reckon.
This one was tricky to film and edit! show your support by liking the video and subscribing if you haven't already.

Alright Tom! Just a suggestion for your next urban mission. I know you're wearing trainers so you can be light on your feet etc., but they don't give much in the way of protection from sharp objects or obstacles, like a pair of boots would. A good compromise to check out would be electricians safety trainers. They are light and flexible, but also have a composite material toe protection and a tough sole. Might be worth a look. Looking forward to more of these anyway mate.
It's a good thing trespass is a civil matter in the UK, so cops can do nothing to you except requesting you to leave. And only the land owner can actually kick you off private land. Great video, can't wait for the next part.
I have to say I really like the No Roads Missions, it is how I found the channel. Personally I'd be interested to see how large a city you could do a pure No Roads (as in no crossing of roads at all) or if it is totally unfeasible as when the city gets smaller it has less bridges or adjoining roofs.
@BraydenSMoore
Жыл бұрын
Small enough and you could do it just by following one body of water (river, creek, etc) from one side to the other. Maybe there's a middle point where it gets hard, but I reckon the hardest would be a large north american city like Toronto or Manhattan where it might genuinely be impossible.
@callum2547
Жыл бұрын
@@BraydenSMoore Most cities have a river running through them so you could do most of them like that. You could do London by just following the Thames river path but that would boring. Not using the Thames in London would be 100% impossible because London has very little unused land and a lot more city. I would say Birmingham is probably the largest city in Western Europe where a no roads mission is possible simply because of the unused land and abandoned parts.

the platinum/gold rule probably mostly exists so there is still enough incentive to not deviate too much from the line. Hell yeah! Home from a gruelling 4h drive to crack a beer and see this upload. Big up as always Tom, such a joy everytime you upload. And home turf too!
Why is this one of the most entertaining videos I have watched in a long time, honestly great content 👍👍
In may I watched the scotland straight line video as I procrastinated because I had an English exam to study for. Was great, now I’ll watch this without having to feel guilty.
Jeez seeing the sea-life centre instantly transported me to being a 4 year old on a school trip! Excellent adventure, I look forward to seeing the conclusion - you got me hooked! Also big up Uncle Ed!
Very cool adventure! Looks like the second half of this journey is going to be just as exciting and fun, thanks fellas! 🍻
"Everytime! Has Greg ever been chased?" Haha, I feel you Ben.
I'm just glad you are using the old video format that you are known for! Love it!
Imagine chilling at home and then you see Tom jump in your backyard 💀
Hey Tom! Met you in the Lexington on your mate's stag. I remember telling you one of my favourite series was the black country one. Super stoked to see this one!! :))
Best ever! i adore any of these series! looking forward to seeing the next bit! :) reminiscent of the most favorite "straight line" Missions!!
This is an insane level of entertainment! Best thing on KZread! Tom always delivers :D
Glad to see Ben has recovered from the trauma of Wales 3 and is out there adventuring again.
