Amazing track! It still sounds surprisingly current. You can hear where the British New Wave of the late 70s and the 80s drew from. I even seem to hear some HipHop...

I have to say I also find it hard to imagine and have figured it out. What I have been able to find is that the song appeared on their third studio album 'Ege Bam Yasi' from 1972 released on the United Artists label (Spoon).

@@EdwinJack64 1972 is still impressive but 1968 would have made it truly 'ahead of its time'. the drums reminds me of some techno stuff from the early 90s
