Lore-accurate details: - Piccolo primarily defending and using ranged attacks - Multiple tail grabs - Saibamen and Pikmin are both strange plant-like minion creatures - Vegeta repeatedly beating Goku within an inch of his life - Kazuya AI using beams and ranged blasts repeatedly similar to Vegeta - Goku losing 2 stocks immediately due to being worn out from using the Kaioken in past fights - Kazuya's final smash is the Galick Gun - Useless side character uses a sword to cut off Vegeta's tail - Vegeta is hit by the spirit bomb - Vegeta doesn't actually die from the spirit bomb and Kazuya flees to the right of the screen representing Vegeta leaving Earth - Goku and Gohan train against eachother in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber during the Cell arc - Gohan immediately walking off to right represents his unwillingness to fight in the Cell arc

Clearly, Twitch chat killing themselves twice at the beginning of the fight was Goku using his Kaioken. Kirby killing Kazuya with the ultra sword is also obviously a reference to Yajirobe cutting off Vegeta's tail. At the end, the Hadoken (Kamehameha) manages to hit Kazuya (Vegeta ) and doesn't kill him, but it weakens him and he exits stage right, swearing revenge. Bravo, Twitch chat. Masterful storytelling.

@@epicgamer-ny4fj It isn't bad, you really should start with original dragonball though for it to make a bit more sense (and be willing to put up with a major tonal shift when Z hits and be willing to put up with things just being introduced out of nowhere since the writer really does not plan things out. Also, Goku does eventually gain a sort of teleportation power (he technically cannot teleport anywhere, he needs to lock on to somone basically first) and for some weird reason this does actually work to teleport himself and other people to the afterlife. It's not bad but it is rather odd and filled with things that are not always well explained.

I love how Krillin, the Level 1 Kirby CPU, managed to somehow score 2 out of the 3 kills on Vegeta. The fact that the second one was with a sword makes it even better.

25:06 Gohan immediately losing for stupid reasons that are his own fault is absolutely consistent.

Its amusing to think that technically the one that did the most work against the level 9 Kazuya was the level 1 Kirby that was supposed to be useless, because it somehow took two of the stocks.

Can we talk about how canon that ending was? Kirby (Krillin) using a sword to attack Vegeta, Gohan running out of lives (him falling unconscious after getting his tail cut) and Goku and Krillin being the last ones standing

As a major DBZ fan, watching Dougdoug trying (with very mixed success) to interpret the cliffnotes version of DBZ’s story is equal parts infuriating and hilarious XD

I still come back to this video occasionally just because I was the one who suggested final smashes for the Vegeta fight. It was fun to have the chance to contribute to the saga that is Twitchchat Z.

On this episode of DougDoug, Doug doesn’t realize that DBZ is the sequel to Dragon Ball. A show about fighting and magical wish granting Dragon Balls. But even though I’ve watched the show, a lot of the events that happened in the show seem a lot wilder when read back to me. 😂

So like, Goku heals his enemy so his enemy won't kill everyone because Goku was weak, so Goku used time manipulation to train slightly more to beat Cell, but then his son-

The best part about the final battle is that Goku used a Kamehameha (Hadoken) to finish the fight, while Vegeta used a Galick Gun (purple beam thing Kazuya does)

As someone who has never watched dbz, the phrase, "Piccolo, who had been watching Gohan, DESTROYED THE MOON" hit like a Truck

it has been said before but wow doug it's a very talented entertainer. his ability to make up stuff on the run that somehow sounds logical and at the same time engage with chat keeping things fresh and fun is unmatched

Honestly, it makes sense why Doug and Chat would actually work fairly well against a level 9 CPU. Fighting game bots try to memorize and predict your behavioral patterns so they can exploit them, especially on the higher difficulties - so by doing things completely randomly, you may have given the CPU a harder opponent than someone who would've otherwise been really trying to win with predictable strategies

I think you're giving the AI too much credit here - i seriously doubt anything but an Amiibo has learning capacities. The level 9 AI is simply preprogrammed to make optimal moves for the average player - so being totally random could still kinda help, but it's not like the in-game CPU is wasting resources on memorizing your moves.

@@SkyeLuin true, but it still could be MUCH worse. Lucina and marths ai are both equally TERRIBLE. So the games ai and the amiibos ai are the exact same ai, and i got a lucina amiibo thinking she would be a great aerial fighter, while training her, at level *43* she spent the entire match running away, and not using ANY attacks except up b only to recover. The best part of this is that right at the end, you can see that Kazuya doesn't really die to the final smash; he hits the ground and techs into the blast zone like an actor in a play who's supposed to die and leave the stage behind a curtain. He simply accepted his role in the story and played to it.

How was the final battle so incredibly accurate, like right down to the end where Vegita survives then leaves

I can't imagine a sequel to this, Doug's going to go insane if he has to adapt Namek into Smash Bros.

I love when people are baffled by how unfollowable early DBZ is because it’s so heavily based on like the 200 episode long entire T.V/manga series that came before it

DougDoug, you GOTTA do all of DBZ with TwitchChat in Smash. Do the whole series but just with TwitchChat and sometimes an AI vs up to 5 CPU at once at one point, and later even Squad Strike if needed

the fact that Kazugeta’s Final Smash looked like something between a death beam barrage and a Galick Gun, and that Ryukuchat’s Final Smash looked like a Kamehameha is great lore, they did the beam clash and Ryukuchat used the Kaiodivorce X4 Edit: Kirbirillin used the Destructo-Sword to cut off Kazugeta’s tail, while Gohonkey Song does nothing

The credits were actually a _fantastic_ ending for this incredible video. That was amazing. For context on the plot, Dragon Ball Z is the sequel to Dragon Ball. By using the Dragon Ball Z plot, you put yourself in the middle of a bunch of characters you've never heard of. I hope you try something like this again some time! Avatar: The Last Airbender might make for an interesting story to use for a similar stream.

@@nugget0928 Well, he's had his chat play tons of games, for one. He's used AI to make his LinkedIn, as well as using it to make characters battle. And he did the Red dead "take a bath" challenge twice. He made an AI for playing Super Mario Maker and then came back later with a whole family of AIs for it on a different stream. He's done several Mario Party games with his chat having control of one or more of the players. Doug always finds a way to make concepts that he returns to interesting, but he _absolutely_ does return to the same thing often.

Can we talk about how chat straight up ended it with a Kamehameha

The inclusion of DBZ and finding out you know nothing about it was what made this so damn hilarious! And the insane way you came up with justifications for the character choices, that was amazing! Felt like I got a surprise video on top of the one I was already watching. Not sure when I'll ever see anything that tops this for laughs!

The best part about DBZ's confusing story is that most of the people who've watched actively prefer to watch it on the most confusing way possible (not watching DB first). Doug isn't even reading the story the wrong way that's just 100% how DBZ goes for most of the public.

Dragon ball z is like a steak but with dragon ball it adds so many spices and sides to the steak you've never experienced and it adds to a perfect experience. And then dragon ball super is like if someone came with a beautiful desert and then pissed on it after you started to like the new ideas and how it complimented the overall experience

Seeing DougDoug trying to figure out DBZ is both painful and hilarious. For DBZ or rather the whole Dragonball Franchise, there is no overall plot, it’s mostly a character and lore driven series where the characters go through adventures to get stronger in order to defend their home [Earth], friends, loved ones, and [directly or indirectly] the universe they live in by various threats or challenges to overcome. As well as with the mystical orbs, the dragonballs, with the eternal dragon named Shenron, he has the ability to make wishes but only if it’s within the creator’s power to do so [thus, it can be upgraded]. It’s mostly the supporting element of the show and it can be involved one way or another. That’s as simple as it can be for as much as I can do to describe it. I just think DougDoug chose the wrong anime to reference for the idea he attempted to come up with lol

I laughed when he revealed the name of the AI. Chris Snack got a new identity so Master Hand would let a literal god into the arena. And thus, Chris Smash was born.

The final battle against Vegeta/Kazuya was hype. The fight between Goku/Ryu and Gohan/DK was damn near canon. The credits made me feel like I was watching Adult Swim in my 20's again. Also, thanks for the abridged version of DBZ S1. Might make more sense when you watch it, lol.

Doug reactions are more hilarious because DBZ PRACTICALLY is middle of the story. Like who is Krillin or Who is Piccolo or the fact that Goku used to have tail etc was in original DB or who are Z fighters etc

I remember seeing the vod for this, first time I ever fully watched a 2+ hour video instead of having it in the background it was so fun seeing Doug confused and being confused by dragon ball z
