Turks indeed had a decisive role in triggering historical major events like the Migration Period, Crusades, shaping the history of Balkans, Islamization of Northern India, Age of Discovery as well as ending the Middle Ages with the conquest of Constantinople, fall of the Roman Empire

1 the "migration period" wasn't that influential. Most Turks in turkey today have greek-anatolian origins (Anatolians aka the originals aka the indo-european group that inhabited ANATOLIA) 2 the islamazation of northern india was because of the traders of the islamic caliphate. The ottoman "empire" didn't even expand beyond persia so how could they influence india? 3 the crusades mostly happens before the Turks even migrated to middle East . Most of the crusades were triggered because of the holy Land and islamic caliphates 4 the ottomans/turks didn't had any "decisive" role in the fall of Byzantium. It was the slavic kingdoms in the North that's been attacking for 500 years + the 4th crusades against Constantinople which destroyed the city, the ottomans only finished it. The hard work/damage was already done 5 age of discovery was mainly thanks to Portugal and Spain and later on France England and Russia (to Siberia and Alaska) . The ottomans were literally blocked from entering the Indian Ocean by the Portuguese, and blocked from the Atlantic Ocean by Spain and Morocco and blocked in the North/black Sea and it's rivers leading to the Baltic Sea By Russia, Also most of the mapping and travelling was done by Italian Portuguese spanish and French travellers and mappers The ottomans/turks were NEVER a global power in terms of economy and army and technology, regional power maybe. But not global 6 "shaping the history of the Balkans" yeah to the worst, cuz they were doing just fine. But the ottomans tried and failed cuz Russia won 8 out 11 major wars to free the Balkans and Christian lands from the hands of them 7 "the ending of the middle Ages" loooooool The Renaissance in Italy which started in 1100s is what ended the middle Ages. The Turks / ottomans were never a civilization anyways

*pin this please* The whole narration of Greeks being "pork-eating Europeans" vis-a-vis Turks who are "kebab-eating Asians" would be to adopt an oversimplifying anachronistic attitude, since, until the emanation of Philhellenism, Greece was a part of the "Near East"; so much so that even today, if not for identity politics, it would be quite hard to discern Greece from Turkey in many aspects, whether it be culture or else. The Orientalist usage of the term "Europe" is an unrealistic attempt at rendering a half-continent with ambiguous borders as a monolith with defined cultural borders. In reality, both the Middle Eastern cultures and Europe (post-French Revolution) formed their national identities as a way of countering the Other, which was the "Saracens" for Europeans, repped by Turkey, and "Infidel West" for Middle Easterners, repped, again, by Turkey; which is precisely why neither Middle Easterners nor Europeans truly accept Turks as one of their own. I love and care for all of our neighbors. Peace! Edit: Name of the city was changed to "Istanbul" in 1930s; we called it "Konstantinopolis/Konstantiniye" until then as well. Redditors love to get us (Greeks and Turks) pick a bone over their own misinformation.

Être fort comme un Turc ('to be strong like a turk'): This expression originates in the 15th century when the Turks had a reputation for being strong, almost unbeatable warriors due to their numerous victories. At the time, the Ottoman Empire ruled large parts of south-east Europe, north Africa and western Asia. It is said that François I, King of France, was gifted Turkish armour by Suleiman the Magnificent (the tenth and most famous sultan of the Ottoman Empire) during their alliance. When he wore it, he is said to have exclaimed: "Here I am now, strong as a Turk!" THE TURKS AND THE WEST from 11 days. Europe stood in awe of the Ottomans who crushed many states and conquered vast territories, going, as all patriotic Turks will proudly point out, "all the way to the gates of Vienna." European literature is replete with the depictions of the Turk as the hated enemy. The English often thought of the Turk as awe-inspiring and destructive. Thomas Fuller wrote in The Holy Warre (1639): "The Turkish Empire is the greatest... the sun ever saw. ...Grass springeth not where the grand signior's horse setteth his foot."

Writing in the ninth century, the Arab historian al-Jahiz captured the awe with which outsiders viewed these fighters: If a thousand of their [Turks’] horse join battle and let off a single shower of arrows, they can mow down a thousand [Arabs’] horse. No army can withstand this kind of assault. The Kharajites and the Bedouin have no skill worth mentioning in shooting from horseback, but the Turk can shoot at beasts, birds, hoops, men, sitting quarry, dummies and birds on the wing, and do so at full gallop to fore or to rear, to left or to right, upwards or downwards, loosing ten arrows before the Kharajite can nock one ... and if they do turn their back, they are to be feared as much as deadly poison and sudden death; for their arrows hit the mark as much when they are retreating as when they are advancing.18 RICHARD M. EATON. India in the Persianate Age, 1000-1765 by Richard Eaton .

It can, it has sea territroy in aegean. Greece tries to occupy it as if turkey is in africa, tries to expand sea mile of unhabitated islands in order to control aegean alone, but this will result as an act of war and trigger casus belli because according to greece when we swim in aegean we swim in greek territory 😂 Then turkey will disintegrate greece into ashe and dust. The reason why turkey wants islands is exactly because of that, not because turkey loves islands and want to have some, but because of these stupid claims about aegean and those cause problem If greece wants to expand the sea mile,it will lose the islands which would be in the range of turkish maritime zone.Turkey will invade those if greece goes for that route, and when turkey captures those islands, expanding the maritime zone becomes useless anyways because the aim is to control aegean alone. If not, nothing happens. It is quite easy really, if you do not respect the neighbour at the other end of aegean, make agreements with other countries specifically against turkey and without the approval of turkey, force those upon turkey while trusting EU/USA, claim aegean as yours, you will lose islands and turkey will have no other choice to solve it with force , just as happened in cyprus. The history will repeat itself. Maybe greece will understand that turkey also has a share and is actually in the aegean and they are not the sole owners, start to talk about it with turkey instead of making agreements with some other "lnsert any country" about aegean.
