Can This Rotten Toy Hauler Be Rescued?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The owner of this Weekend Warrior Toy hauler have been asking me for the last 5 years to repair the rotten roof on the back of the 5th wheel. I have politely begged not to, as I have had too many unhappy experiences re-building original Weekend Warrior trailers. But somehow, they talked me into doing it. Now I will not say we are re-building the RV back to showroom standards, but a house with a rotten and leaking roof is hardly useful. So join me as we start the budget re-build on this Weekend Warrior and hopefully, give a few more years of life to a dune loving machine.

Dude, I appreciate your videos as people do mine in the sense that You explain the repair process and thoughts of your game plan as you go. With the repair side of things, you never know what to expect until you see it. Glad to be following you. I will also need repairs to my Rv, but with these types of videos i gain the confidence to tackle them myself. Thanks for what you do.👍👍👍👍👍👍

James, great job. People don't understand the importance of looking at as well as cleaning there roof twice a year. Then when they get water damage it's the manufacturers fault for building junk. If you buy a new car and only put gas in it and never do anything else to it, it's not going to last very long. Like the old saying goes, Pay me now, or pay me later. 👍

It is really hard to start on something like that and know when to stop, the further you look the more you feel you need to do. I can understand the owners choice in getting another year or two out of it, they are expensive. The last new vehicle I bought was 2007. Stay safe and healthy.

What I would give for a few weeks of fine weather, I could get so much done without having to clear everything away and cover things over for rain every few days or hours. I suppose it can get to be a curse when it gets so hot though. You need a platform arrangement to work off at roof height all around those trailers, working alone, it might be a safer option.

Yikes 😬, Hey owner of this RV, at least get yourself a nice big roll of eternabond tape and use it at least when an issue appears, heck it’s better than do nothing! And yeah good thing this rv doesn’t live in BC climate it would have died years ago, lol. James, anybody who watches you regularly knows your a pro, we know you can’t fix it the way you normally would because owner just wants minimal done to keep rv barley breathing. 🤣🍻

As an RV Tech, am I wrong for thinking that it was inappropriate to have even taken that job considering that the owner actually did not want you to fix the problems properly? Maybe I'm wrong in my thinking and would probably lose customers. Would that be your estimation?

So you waited.. and waited... for the owner to get back over to move it under shelter for you. Didn't happen. What? Not very courteous or showing respect for wanting your services to do that kind of work. I'd be weary at this point when it would be picked up afterwards (storage isn't free that I have ever found) and the bill paid for. You're a saint for even starting the work in the sun. SMH
