GCN we need more videos with Hank and Blake. Everybody needs a friend like Hank. Love this guy. And Blake you’re an inspiration, sprinting at the end when you were already spent. That’s what it’s all about, to go beyond your limits. And Hank is a machine, what else can be said.

@@gcn I seem to remember a video with a MTB cyclist and a Roadie in a crit race. Pretty sure that was Blake and Hank? How about meeting them half-way and have them both in a gravel race?

Watching this on tv in the living room when the partner walks out from the bedroom around the 9:15 mark with a concerned look on her face asking me what I'm watching. 😅🤣😂😅🤣😂

Amazing effort. I’m sure I heard Blake say on GMBN he hated climbing with the MTB, so to climb all the way up Alpe D’Huez is incredible. I feel like Hank was barely trying. He was never out of breath and was quite comfortable. He makes a great motivational coach though, egging him on all the way up and being really positive. They make a great pairing. It would be great to see Blake learning the downhill technicalities which, given both are thrill-seekers, would be highly entertaining. They’re like two children getting new toys on Christmas Day. We don’t get enough crossovers!

@@gcn Has he been Bike Packing? Bet he could show Hank some great trails and it would be great to watch him hammering a fully loaded gravel bike along the trails (with, or without tyres...LOL).

Blake's videos are the only ones I really watch on GMBN. It's fantastic to watch him jump into anything GCN ask of him/throw at him. Fair play

Amazing effort guys! This is on my bucket list! I’ve done it maybe a dozen times on fulgaz, though I’m sure it’s not quite the same, and my time’s more like 1.5 hours even without the heat and altitude and real world lol. Mad respect!

I would love to do a hard climb like this with Hank as a supporter, this guy is on another support level !!

I haven't ridden in like 5 years due to a series of knee injuries, but now I feel like im finally recovering enough to ride again. I've gained about 90 lbs (~40 kg) and have let my fitness fall to the wayside. Once I get back into shape, I plan on finding my own way up the Alpe D'Huez and the Col De Tourmalet. Maybe even ride in the Etape du Tour one day

Really good chemistry between Hank and Blake , ….having done Alp Duez on a hot 😅July 10th in the 2022 L’Etape I could feel the pain and suffering all over again , awesome!

Rode the Alp in 2003 to watch the tour. One of the most amazing experiences of my life. I had been mountain biking and climbing in the the French Alps with a friend for a few week. Rode up on an old Specialized RockHopper. Should I share my time? 1 hour 15 on a mountain bike with no lockout on the forks. But I had been at altitude for 2 weeks at least. And we had thousands of people at the side of the rode cheering us on and we were riding up with the biggest bunch of cyclists I have ever been with.

Damn the view of that mountain right after your red GCN banner at the front is amazing. Do you see the fold in that mountain?! That's straight out of a geology textbook! I need to go ride that, as slow as I possibly can (which will also be as fast as I possibly can), just to enjoy the views!

I rode up in in 2016 on the Marmot sportive it killed me I was 6888 across the line out of 6889 1200 didn't finish and I did sprint the last 100 meters just for the hell of it .

Loved this. You could really see how hard it was, and he was still absolutely killing it. Did anyone else find it hard to tell who was who in places?

No doubts at all! Blake is a fit and strong athlete with the lungs to do it.

How about the same climb but now have Blake use a MTB? Excellent job Blake! Your effort is inspiring. I have a cross-road bike (I think) but I use it mostly as a road bike.

Blake did so much better than a lot of “road” riders could ever do. As an old unfit roadie he would have blasted passed me in my granny gears with my ass dragging on the ground!
