    Finally the Xterra gets some love, i used to have an 02 4wd model, took it all over the place and it just kept going and climbing over stuff. They are so underrated, cheap, reliable and capable.

    Enjoyed the combo video. Great idea! Jordan has a great Xterra and would have made Tommy’s Demise with a fresher set of MTs. I don’t think he buried his spare until he slid back down. Somehow missed the rock I hit coming out, but there’s almost no traction and he still had to dig through the mud. My tires were still pretty new and I think that made all the difference. Jordan actually took the line at the end of Cottonwood Creek that I was trying to take, but didn’t go left enough. Well done! Quality driving skills on the whole course - which made a huge difference.

    Good blending of 2 different contents. Nissan deal was interesting. (not surprising on the results) The sign placement confuses me. I personally would never limit a pad outside the barn like that. Putting any obstacles around the edge can become a limiting maneuvering factor. But to each their own. I would have thought that sign would be at the start of the driveway leading up to the ranch. But what do I know. 🤠

    How so? In price absolutely. You can find a cheap Titan diff and do various levels of coilovers and control arms to fit a budget. A SAS is possible but due to the taper in the front of the frame, you can't do a cheap leaf spring suspension in the front of these. It has to be full custom fab. Only one company makes a kit that I know of with all the brackets and all premade and its 5 grand not including axles, gears, and drive shaft. I spoke to a guy who did a SAS and he said for the money he spent, he would have just built a buggy

    i'm assuming the Xterra owner saying he did time in Afghanistan means he is a Veteran. i'm also a vet and i salute his service. however, it's clear he doesn't know how to do "four wheeling" in an aggressive manner. every "seasoned" four-wheeler knows that one of the most important aspects of "off-roading" is to maintain "forward momentum." so when you approach an obstacle or a creek or a mud rut, you accelerate the vehicle and keep the engine revs high to maintain wheel-spin. that is the only way "forward momentum" can be maintained. the LAST thing you do is what this Xterra guy did - "stop" in the middle of the obstacle or rut!

  • @Flying_Dollar_Motorsports

    Which is why we're on our second. 3rd X, but 2nd 6speed. Used to be they were cheaper that way. Now you pay more. An automatic Xterra of comparable year, pkg, mileage is a few thousand less than the manual. Sure you can get a wrangler unlimited but something you can really sleep in , this is the last. It was this or a full restomod XJ manual which are getting just as hard to find. The new X we got we had to search for 4 months and ship it. Got it for an automatic price as the dealer had it listed as an auto and a lower trim on their site. Vin search and pics showed a manual P4X, comps were going up to 30k with similar mileage. They dropped it after it sat and we shipped it. Only thing that sucked was an unwanted cold air intake. Would have preferred the nismo or volant if picking. aFe looks like some Walmart snazzy gear. Performs well but I'll need the exhaust and tune to get anything out of it. For me the stock truck is like a sports car anyway as I drive work vans all the time. The other drawback, it had some poor lighting choices. Early LEDs, early light bar, wrong bulbs etc. Sorted.

  • @AJNpa80

    @AJNpa80

    Also thought about a manual disco. Really the Xs have been as reliable as a Toyota and the parts I'd bet are cheaper. New enough to have a clean frame, decent power figures, and a 6 instead of a 4 or 5 speed. Has just enough electronics. Not so many to be unreliable. Can get us into and out of anywhere we're trying to go, and handles the 1 to 400 mile drive there comfortably. Sure I'd love a triple locked all solid axle vehicle but unless I can afford an Ineos Grenadier and a Titan 5.6 with a Nissan 6 speed to shoehorn into it, Xterra it is. They've mated the 5.6 to the same 6 speed. Curious how hard it would be to fit it to the grenadier tcase. That would be my dream vehicle. Wish they would have gone with Nissan or Toyota engines and transmission instead of BMW. Even just a manual or bringing the diesel to the states would have been cool. Though the diesel is probably just a headache now. Assume it limps on most countries fuel. But they have fancy pants drive modes.... All analog they said.

    My question is how does that have such bad turning radius? With a titan swap your turning radius is much tighter, I have a CJD Racing titan swap kit with full heim steering replacement, 35's and 4.56 gears as well. Its actually quite odd how poorly it steers 🤔🤔 maybe the offset of those rims hinders the steering angle..... thats the only thing I can think of.
