I’ve own these tires since January. They are installed on my 2022 4Runner. It’s quiet on the road and fits well with my everyday work commute. I took them up to Lake Tahoe in late January when it was cold, 25-18 degrees and when most of the roads are icy. It performed well, it gripped and I felt confident driving in any conditions. This past weekend I went back to up Lake Tahoe but this time it was snowing. My 4Runner performed excellent and with these tires it felt at home just soaking up the snow, ice and cold pavements. No signs of slipping when going up the mountain roads. There is about 2,590 miles on these tires and the thread still looks new. No signs of thread chipping. Great everyday tires and an excellent weekend off-road warrior!

I have had great success with these tires. I have them on my 2011 Jeep liberty. They do everything well. I've taken them on mild offroad trails and through big puddles. Just recently I plowed through a snow bank and drove through 12 in of fresh powder with these tires. I drove up hills in the deep snow and didn't get stuck once. These are very capable tires. I couldn't be happier with them.

That's pretty good. I have the k02s with 30000 miles on them. I got them siped and studded for snow and they perform amazing in the snow. I used the smallest screws I could find, drilled them into the tire and now they are great on ice. May get a set of these for overlanding

Just put these on my 16 F150 XLT 2.7 and could not be happier. This review is one of only a few available on this tire. I searched for a 3pms that would hit the 275/55/20 mark that was not an A/T and basically this is the only one that fit the bill. Tires are way quieter than the touring ones I had on previously with 40K on them. Had them in a nor'easter two days ago. The day I had them installed. Even without them being worn in they skipped only once on my way home in a fairly deep puddle on the highway doing 70. So far for me a home run. Looking forward to your snow review!

A really tempting new tire. I've had KO2s and loved them. I never noticed road noise to be an issue with them and thought the on road driving experience, inclusive of rain, was great. These trail terrains seem to be about 13 lbs lighter per tire, which is cool. I also like they are 3TMPS and have about 10k miles longer warranty on them. For roughly $10 less per tire, I'm just not sure that's enough for me to get them instead of KO2s. I get they aren't supposed to be a direct compete tire to the KO2, but for me, I'd rather had the best I could get for when/if I need it. The look of the KO2 is also just unmatched. I'm not due for new tires until later this year so maybe I'll change my mind if I see more reviews of these trail terrains crushing it in the snow and if any longer term reviews show noticeable impact on MPG.

UPDATE 1 year later (October 2022): I've had these installed for a year now for my 4th gen 4runner (4WD). Got about 12K+ miles on them so far. Took it for a round trip 2500+ miles road trip over the spring and I've driven them in South lake Tahoe during the spring snow storm they had back in April 22, 2022. Overall these tires are very nice and held up to their claims. My only dislike about them is how soft the inner tread block is. It's definitely got good traction on wet roads and snowy condition, but reliability wise though some are chipped off already from just your typical freeway potholes and occasional sharp rocks. Noise wise, they're actually pretty quiet but once you're going 85mph like say at Idaho freeways, it's got some noise, but it's not that bad. The wear so far is your average all-season type of tire kind of wear for 12k+ miler, I'm guesstimating they'll only last me for another 40K miles or so. Original comment (October 2021): Got these installed last week for my 4runner, and then a day later drove in a crazy rainstorm here in Washington. Handling and grip is SO much better than the all-season tire I used to own (and currently own for my Corolla which I got installed a month ago). I’ve never owned a “T/A” tire before nor a 3pmsf one. Was originally going for the KO2’s cuz of the looks but I drive on the highway 90% of the time and I feel like I made the right choice here 🙏 can’t wait to see the other tests!

I do blast my music all the time, but for test purposes, I turned it down. Noise level is not bad surprisingly, though it’s still noticeably a tad louder than my previous all seasons. Can’t compare it with All terrains like the KO2’s or M/T tires though as this is my first mild off-roading tires-but transitioning from all season to this, it’s extremely nice especially in snow and extreme rainy weather.

Just put these on my 4Runner replacing the previous Nitto Ridge Grapplers. These are smoother and steering is lighter. The Nittos at 51,000 miles were slipping on wet surfaces but seemed more planted in cornering and soaked up big bumps a bit better. These brand new BFG Trail Terrains seem to jolt the vehicle a bit more and has more lean in corners. I’ll have to adjust my driving habits a bit, but so far I’ll take the quiet smooth ride.

Bought these about 2 weeks ago for my 2021 4runner SR5. I was looking for a great dirt road tire that was 3PMS rated and these fit the bill nicely. The road noise compared to the stock Bridgestone Dueller all seasons is not noticable but the traction improvements are. A lot of people go for a more aggressive tire but don't really need it as they are more Overlanding forest roads and county dirt roads rather than hard mountain passes but I see these being pretty good for that too. The only thing I see that would be a disadvantage is on the ends of the tire surface as they don't have the blocks. Any word on the MT Baja Boss coming in 16"?

I've seriously had been looking for tires for over 8 months. I've considered the Michelin LTX AT2, and Bridgestone Revo 3. I don't do much off roading other than pulling my pop-up, or my quad to places I want to ride, my truck just gets me there. I don't want to lose the quiet comfortable ride because we do road travel in my truck. I currently have Firestone LE2, though quiet and smooth I need a tire that can get me to the places I camp and ride (boonies) what do you think about the trail terrain compared to my other options. I greatly would appreciate your advice. Buying tires suck! So many choices, and everyone has their opinion. I was impressed that you put them on your highlander and they seemed quiet and smooth. BFG Trail Terrains will not be available in any Light Truck sizes and if your truck still falls within the weight limits of the load ratings available with the payload and towing capacities of the Trail Terrains, then by all means they can be used on a pickup truck, but what we've found is for truck owners who take their trucks off the pavement will generally prefer at least an "LT" rated tire.

Hmmm… not my KO2 experience at all. I drove through the backside of last year’s hurricane while trekking from Tennessee through Southern Missouri in my ‘18 Tundra on 285/55/20’s. The kinda rain where you turn your wipers off because they made no difference. I can say the KO2’s never blinked in all that. I live in Western CO and we don’t get much rain here so my rain data is limited. But i pull a travel trailer and have pulled it over winter Mountain passes, at night, in blowing snow with as much confidence as you can have doing that, thanks to the KO2’s. So I am very interested in these Trail Terrain’s for my Acura MDX AWD now that I see them on the Highlander.

KO2s are really dangerous on wet asphalt. While still looking for new tires (as I cannot get any of BEST tires here in Europe... OR they have too low speed index of just about 100 mph, which is too low for my daily commute), I trew away KO2s, sold them while thay had still some thread left, and put on some 7 years old 70% worn out junk, and they outperformed KO2s by huge margin. Then I put the EU version of new Wildpeaks AT3WS on and those too knocked KO2s out in first round, especially on wet. But hands on, KO2s were bulletproof, have not had flat ever, and I've abused them really hard.
