That was like getting hunted by a shark at the end! By the time you saw him, it was too late. I still think you should rematch both the Felon and the Raptor with the Strike Eagle armed with Meteor missiles; I think it would be a lot closer.

@GrowlingSidewinder. Nice try against the Raptor but Toxic was toying with you like a cat with a mouse from start to finish. At least he was kind enough not to turn you into flaming microscopic particles like the Felon did yesterday. When you were trying to figure out where he was near the end, the suspense had me saying I think he's behind you multiple times. I want to see some tank-planking missions in the Strike Eagle next.

Would be pretty funny if the F-22 appeared in his rear view mirror all of a sudden. 😂

Imagine how The F-15EX would do, plus he's using AIM-120C-5... it'd make a big difference if he had C-7's on The F-15E bc he'd be able to launch around 60 miles with The F-15E's powerful radar and C-7's range! Lol AIM-120D would make an even bigger difference ;)

Yeah, 60 miles, that is a way too big range for the F15E to see the F22 on the radar. But still, F22 is able to defeat at the close range to F15E.

The tactics used by the F-22 in this video were scary. Intermittently using the radar. It genuinely felt like there was a predator out there stalking him.

I remember Astoria awhile back about a single F-22 VS 5 F-15s in a training exercise. The F-22 won flawlessly. Each of the F-15 pilots said they couldn't find the F-22, until after they were killed.

With the strike eagles powerful radar but limited by the aim 120s I’m curious how this fight would go with the eagle having aim 152 Raytheon that you tested in previous videos

Seeing the F22 come up from behind so aggressively got my adrenaline pumping.

Thing is, you may be spotting a "bumblebee" but it's a bumblebee closing with you at mach 1 or 2. Probably easy to distinguish over the regular bumblebees.

A metal bumblebee, at mach 1.5.... Still pretty impressive that the radar is essentially detecting somthing that from its POV is basically a medium sized bullet from a rifle.

F15 c is the fighter f15e has more powerful radar but les fighter pedigree it is like the su 34 of the russians.

Valiant effort - lasted alot longer than many would I would guess!

You weren't counting his missile launches. He was probably outta fox 3s and the next option for him was to switch off radar and go fox 2 hunting.

How does DCS/the model builders determine the abilities of the technology of each aircraft? Like, how do we know if it's accurate when most of that stuff is secret?

They dont model the secret stuff. Only the things that are available for the public and back those things up with SME (Special matter experts) that often worked with those aircraft back then. Thats btw the reason why we only have aircrafts in dcs that are at least +15 years old and nothing state of the art. The electronic warfare simulation is none existent as a example what is not available in the sim.

SME is subject matter expert, meaning actual pilots who flew the f15e in a lot of cases they are also using manuals and stuff that are declassified, somethings that are classified are simply modelled by publicly available information

I’m guessing his radar is an upgraded version, but I’ve heard enough accounts from pilots to be confident that the F-15C radar in the early 2000s couldn’t pick up the F 22 at all. There was even a genuine inquiry from some of the pilots at one point as to whether or not the F-22’s were flying, or if they were being put into a simulation, because they never saw them at all in multiple engagements, on RADAR or visually. I’m suspicious that the F-15E RADAR in DCS is accurate. Wonder if an update will fix this…

Well the RWR can detect an opposing aircraft at ^2 of the distance between the two aircraft. Whereas your aircraft can only pick up the opposing aircraft at ^4 of the distance (as a rough example) Therefore, if the RWR is good enough, any aircraft should be able to sneak up on another in such isolated circumstances. Assuming their opponent leaves their own radar on the whole time.

12:51 - above the tall buildings as you looked back to the right, spotted movement before he formed up on ya. This was a great video to watch, and no question about it, the F-15E radar is so strong!

F-22 is like "Really? Come on bro, I've been playing with you the whole time."

Playing Peek-a-Boo with a F-22 is not recommended 😂.

Max afterburner should react to this, nice flying until real stealth was met at the end

would have loved to see it from the F22s perspective… how much he had to work to keep the AMRAAMs of his back… or was it just a few moves here and there and lock broke? … good fight… he didnt manage to beat you in a BVR… I believe thats big.

When the F-22 notches it’s radar cross section becomes the size of a bee apparently so that may be why you pick him up on radar when he commits vs notches

I was asking this question as soon as I saw the video yesterday.

I'd love to see the tach view of this and commentary from Toxic on what he was thinking and doing during the engagement.
