I think what makes tfl so special is that you guys are a company. Professional, lots of employees and even two facilities, yet it still has that homemade feel to your videos
First Gen still the best with body on frame, 2 position adjustable shocks, mechanical levers. The SE with the sport pack was fabulous. We had them to rent with company I worked for and loved doing brake burnouts. Chiseled looking with a cool rear tire carrier too.
I really like how you guys take these types of vehicles and test them. 99.9% of people wont utilize the features to their max potential on this type of vehicle.
I have a 2017 Nissan pathfinder AWD Platinum SUV that I brought brand new Dec 2016 which is the best SUV I've ever owned for the money. I paid 39,000 for it brand new, it's loaded with creature comfort like adaptive cruise control, it can tow 6000 pounds easily, and because of the CVT the AWD version gets 22 to 24 miles per gallon on the highway. Never had any problems since purchase and have 80000 on it. With all terrain tires it does well on muddy dirt roads on my property and has never left me stuck/stranded. Only time it's been in the shop is for oil changes and new brake pads.
It's so bizarre how getting knobs and buttons for basic controls nowadays feels like a luxury feature

@@quinnycoleman7214 yup, had an XJ, 02 Pathfinder and 02 Xterra. The Xterra and XJ were a tad better off road, but the Pathfinder was 100% better on road than both and could easily be improved off road. Super underrated. If I had to go back and choose just one I'd choose the Pathfinder.
1st Generation was the best. I owned the last year it was made and I do miss it. However, for a mall crawler, this version does seem to be back on track. Cannot think of a better person than Roman to go mark the territory. ;)
Just gave my wife a down payment for a new crossover/suv for about a month ago. She came back with the base model 2022 Outlander! 28k! No mark ups! Great vehicle so far after just hitting 2200 miles. Really good looking car. I love the paint. Just swap tyres for off-road
Andre's sign is awesome. The Pathfinder was surprisingly good, too. Most "SUV's" anymore AREN'T. They are just bulbous kid haulers, which is fine. But is nice that this one can actually do something. Next time I am renting a car, will keep it in mind.

I have the Platinum 4WD fully equipped. This type of SUV is best with 4WD. For the winter I put in the 18 inch wheels with heavy duty mud/snow tires. For the summer I will be using the 20 inch wheels with all season tires. I will not be going off road with this Pathfinder. If I was going to go off road I would get the proper tires on heavy duty 18 inch rims. This vehicle is not a heavy duty type off road vehicle. I found when on soft surfaces and in snow I got better results when turning off traction control in the menu system. The skirts are too low to be practical for true off road driving. For true and serious off road I would get a Rubicon or an off road 4X4 PRO-X type pickup truck. I bought it to use as large 4WD vehicle for winter months. In the summer it will be for regular urban driving. I like the size and the comfort. Great vehicle for general SUV type use.
Great job Nissan & TFL for the great content. Thanks for sharing! Billy D

SUVs like this should have 8" minimum ground clearence to improve the approach angle. It is not much of an ask compared to the 4L transfer case.

Love to see a Subaru Forester/Outback run through Nathan's Crack and Andre's Pit
It will be great when we can see a real course with all the things we would encounter offroad. Hills, minor and maximum articulation sections, moguls, approach and departure angels and even break over angles. A couple days with a tractor and you would have a fantastic course mapped out. Maybe even have detours side by side for All Wheel vs 4 Wheel vehicles.
A front-wheel-drive (or AWD) cross-over may be labeled a Pathfinder, but it is more a bloated minivan than an SUV.

good v6 and no more cvt Nissan is heading in the right direction also Nissan I would like to the 3.8 v6 in the frontier in this pathfinder at least offer it as an option and maybe vice versa for those complaining about fuel economy on the frontier offer the current engine in this pathfinder on the frontier I think if you offer both of those engines on the frontier and this pathfinder or at least give us the option it would make both vehicles more enticing

I just switched my 4Runner from Michelin Defender LTX MS2 highway LT tires to Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires with 3PMS snow rating. I was worried ride, pavement performance, and road noise would all suffer. So far, I can barely tell the difference with a very slightly stiffer ride. I think it is because the Falkens have heavier sidewalls than the Michelins. Those Falkens would probably work wonders on the new Pathfinder. Somebody needs to tell Nissan USA. ;-)
The ladies will love this for the school run,,,,,, the men will simply keep driving their trusty old Surf/Fourrunner.
Looking forward to the wheelin reviews at the new location. However, can we all agree that the 🐮 🥧 narrative has run its course?
for absolutely caked up shit tires...that 2nd attempt was rather impressive
Still waiting patiently for the toyota sequoia TRD PRO...
Maybe take an older version pathfinder and compare it to see if they went forward or backward of capabilities and well see if it's worthy of off roading
I like the new body style but I wish it was like the 1 gen 4x4 setup with 2wd being driven by the rear wheels instead of fwd.
I just bought a 2012 Pathfinder (last of the REAL Pathfinders) and absolutely love it! What they did with it afterwards was an absolute disgrace! It looks a little better but a long way from where it was before! Unibody would be fine so long as it has a conventional drivetrain and a REAL suspension more suitable for off road (think Jeep Grand Cherokee). And yeah, they should bring back the XTerra and base it off the new Frontier!
If you were able to put on proper all terrain tires the Pathfinder would have terrific performance when driving through soft terrain. During the winter months I am using 18 inch wheels with mud/snow tires on the Platinum. Never had any issues. I am in Canada, and the roads where I am are horrible at times.
Can it conquer Tommy's Taint trail ?
it looks decent but id prefer the clearance plus higher bumpers from my 4runner, those fenders sit too low to throw it around in deep snow banks or other terrain like with my truck.
Which family SUV do you think is more capable and recommended for the snow? New Nissan Pathfinder, Hybrid Highlander, Kia Telluride or Genesis GV80? Thanks.
'Sniper Hill' cannot be 'Sniper Hill' until you place a sniper within the blind, armed with some type of .30 cal rifle... OK, at least some sort of paintball rifle.
Pathfinder used to compete with 4Runner and now is just meant for the road.
The exterior reminds me of the Landrover Discovery 🤔 💭
