Can't wait to see this. (films of Robert Eggers)

Robert Eggers is one of the most exciting filmmakers recently. His upcoming Nosferatu flick looks great. This is a little review of his previous three films. Let me know what you think.

Revenge can be looked at in another way. Justice.

The trailer for the movie looks really interesting and I am really looking forward ro watching it. I love vampires and I have watched Nosferatu in the cinema with a live orchestra, which was incredible. But I am also a little concermed, there are sooooo many adaptations of Dracula/ Nosferatu, so I am a little concerned that this movie will have no new twists or such. But still, I am very hopefull that the movie will be a beautifull telling of Nosferatus tale and that I wont get scared to death by it (especially by Renfield, I was so scared of him when I read Dracula). I am also exited to see Depp in the movie, I have heard about her amazing acting performance in that show with The Weeknd (which was absolutelly horrible), maybe she has the chance to now act in an amazing movie

My only concern is that, so far, I've not thought much of any adaptations of Dracula except the 1922 and the 1977 movies, which honestly are each their own thing and owe very little to the novel, but are insurmountable masterpieces each in their own way, with the 1922 of course winning the prize. I'd really like to see an adaptation where Dracula wins in the end, but that's just me and literally has no merit. Also, personally Eggers has been on a descending spiral, even though each of his movies is a masterpiece. I mean, for me, The VVitch is his best movie, followed by The Light House, and then by The Northman (far less good than the other two). Here's hoping Dracula won't be worse than Northman, but I can't see a story like that rising to the heights of psychological thriller/drama of The VVitch, regardless of how much I love the novel and all movies Dracula. BTW, sorry, but I think you have a very literal and poor interpretation of The Lighthouse. There's nothing to determine the sirens and all the rest are hallucinations. And even if they are, well, the Witch in The VVitch may as well be symbolic and all the ending just happening in Thomasin's head, though in both cases I don't think that's the case (pun intended). But of course The Lighthouse is more allegorical than The VVitch, with the final scene being totally Prometheus-like. I still think The VVitch is the far superior movie, but that doesn't mean The Lighthouse is not a work of genius. And Lovecraftian, on top of that!

I’m not sure why so many people didn’t like The Northman.
