How Mark Letteiri has the restraint to not immediately whip it out after a solo like that is beyond me.

How can you listen to this live and SIT STILL! This audience needs to let their soul wake up...
Kudos to the guitar soloist for not opening it up too much. Kept it clean and sexy the whole way. When guys go wide open on this type of genre it can kill the mood. Leave space, less is more. This was awesome. Thanks KZread for recommending this video. I'm going to go head-first down a rabbit hole now, thanks to these gentlemen.

This is what happens when the players love the music more than showing off. All the good things...
Drummer is like a human click track. He makes the whole thing go round. Everyone is very talented in this band, but to me, the drummer is supreme.

Apart from the fantastic music somebody should nominate the guys who filmed this for an Oscar. Brilliant unobtrusive filming that enhances a great performance.

Why am I just finding this now?? This is so good!
Love the fact that the world's most perfect guitar solo includes every guitarist's nightmare where you hit the pedal for more dirt and ruin the effect by losing too much volume. And still perfect!
kudos to the bass player for making the group shine, I'm a fan of bass solos but it's great when a bass player can keep it simple and in the pocket.

You kidding me? Is groove is insane....I started out as a bass player and still love harmony. It's class act how he keeps it tight and glues everyone, as a guitar player marks playing is insane but to me Bob stole the show, his well timed and dynamics pierces your soul and decapitates your head.....
Some one says one day that perfection wasn't part of our world... what a mistake !!

mind blowing track! Ironically enough, the guy standing back playing subtle quarter notes most of the time is the craziest player of the whole bunch!!! (Nir Felder)

I've just discovered this amazing piece! What a band! 🤩 I feel like that uncle who didn't come to see a newborn baby.. for five years! But now I'm here, on your 5th birthday, and I'll never leave you, kid ❤
The bass is really powerful in this song. Wow!
I really feel like the drummer needs credit just for the pressure of everyone there relying on him to keep perfect time and he does it like a human metronome

Found this completely by accident. It is unfathomable to me that anyone who claims to like music could dislike this video. Taste and jams all wrapped into a supremely executed package. What great players.
Mark’s articulation, phrasing, timing is on a boss level!!!
When a guitarist like Mark came along.....he brought the 'big wave' that swipped off all other new gen guitarist like Guthrie, Andy Wood, Tom Quayle, Jack Rhammarat and etc. Mike is truly a guitarist's guitarist! Hats off toMark and the rest of the superb band members.

No need to wait, Bob. It's perfect!
Came here for the absolutely top-notch players, but can we take a moment to appreciate the audio engineers responsible for recording and mixing? My GOD this is one of the most effortless mixes I've ever heard.
I've listened to and watched this performance way more times than I can count...and there has yet to be even a sliver of a shadow of a hint that I might ever tire of it.
This is Organic Jazz - smooth, progressive and well-constructed. Bob uses patience and skill to tailor a wonderfully cohesive solo which climaxes itself into a magna-laude flurry of excellent brilliance.

The musical interaction between Bob and Mark at 3:32 gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. A great example of how to pay attention to your fellow musicians and react on their ideas, build upon them.
Masters of the craft. Music, atmosphere, audio quality, video production, etc. Perfect.
Can´t wait for Perfect , well...Mark Lettieri don´t have to - he already is
One of the greatest guitar solos I've ever heard, plain and simple.
This is the real deal folks, musicians at the very top of their game
Oh my goodness! Where did this wonderful sound come from?!?!?!!?! I just stumbled onto this track/Group and there is SOOO much here to hear! Bob Reynolds' sax has sparked flash backs of "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys", and first time hearing the wonderful tone and mastery of Mark Lettieri....getting some Jeff Beck (RIP!) feel, too! Couldn't have come upon this at a better time in my life, thank you!!!
After a full year of listening to this masterpiece , it stills one of the few purest and most beautiful ever !
Whole band and track is amazing. Mark's solo is one of the coolest & most musical guitar solos I've ever heard. 🤯🙏💜👍
When I first listened tot this song almost instantly I felt a connection like hearing from an old friend after a longtime. Me and this tune just resonate. This tune is so good and I thought they don't make music like this anymore. Much respect for the talent in that room.
Mark's solo get better every new listening
One of the most beautiful pieces that I've ever hear
That guitar solo is out of this world ! And the groove and sound of everyone is just as much. I'm amazed with the perfection of the material the jazz musicians and recording engineers can bring to us nowadays...
Every solo in this piece of music teaches how dynamics should be managed!
The guitarist has a PERFECT tone!
Kept forgetting to breathe during Mark’s solo.
Killer tune and band. That solo from Mark Lettieri though ... Just insane. Definitely one of the best solos I've ever heard on any instrument.
Putting this on makes the whole room feel warm.
The color grade on this video is FIRE!
Mark Fcking Lettieri. He's on a league of his own. holy moly, that was sick. I must admet that i never liked guitar as instrument, but this guy reedems it. Thats how a strat must sound

So I go for a Like on the video only to discover I already liked it xD Seem to have forgotten, I've listened to it before. At least I got to experience it for a first time twice :D *I wonder if at some point in the future this happens again only for me to discover this comment
Stumpled upon this by accident, but this is the best 13 minutes of music I've heard in MANY years. The tone, the nuance, the subtleties, the stories. Each musician creates a universe of pure magic and together it's just out of this world! I will be listening to this for years to come and I'm sure I'll keep discovering new details and nuances! Thank you so much for this!
brilliant musicians, no doubts!! many people say about how good sax and guitar are and I totally agree. But just want to say that bass guitar here is very simple, not overplayed and damn tasty.

Can we talk about that bass playin ?? Insane syncopation going on here.
6:27 ! Im gonna tell you, whats Mark talking about...... Midwest desert, a scarred route of unknown number with potholes and those typical yellow lines wandering through sand and rolling bushes.....all the way until we enter some forgotten town, several plywood houses standing along the main road, rusty paint-peeled pickup left alone at the 60s gas station. A motel and Jerry´s motorest with those red leather coaches, standing by the only crossing in town.... An old stoplight swingin in the wind and finally Mark with his guitar, leaning on a telegraph pole and slowly getting to the 8:11 , to rock the shit out of us and finish the tale of the american desert blues. .... Ive never been to America, thats just the pure magic of music, these guys produced here. They are not playing their instruments, they are being their instruments. Fantastic.
i love the dynamic of drummer created
This is so good it resets what "so good" is.

Not necessarily treated. I've seen the wonders that a great filed recording artist can make, my dad been in the business for over 30 years... Things had to be EQ'd out (like the two guys talking at the beginning) but they worked the room by bringing all the people real close - great trick, our bodies's mass work wonders! Man I heard nature footage with wind and cars and all kind of shit coming clean and rich after 100% manual EQ no de-esser...

@@bobreynolds Odd technical question (specific to Mark's guitar sound): is the reverb on this guitar the actual room (looks like it is a live room) or something he is adding in? Comparing it to your sax sound, it seems like the latter, but I'm not sure. It is SOOOO good. Also, a group I'm playing with is planning on covering this tune. Do we owe you royalties? :)
