    Wow! I tried your suggestions and I can lift my arm without pain now. Who knew? Well, now I know too. Thank you so much. At almost 80 and very small, I do a lot of lifting. Now I can lift without having to ask for help. Bless you.

    TY !! This was very helpful. About 4 weeks back i tripped while exiting a room holding the doorknob.. It stretched my arm and felt a stabbing pain all over my arm up to my fingertips. My muscles stretched & hurt for a few days but the shoulder seemed bruised and i let it rest up to know. The pain is almost all gone but when i try to lift my arm sideways, it does hurt and the shoulder automatically also raises as you showed. I stretched my arms backwards while hanging besides my body, and tried to lift them and it works ! I won't overdo it, i'll try it a couple of more times tomorrow. So thanks you so much. Still nervous cuz i like surfing... hope i can cntinue.

I think it is just some pinched tendons but was scared that it was it was more and wanted to wait it out and do some physical therapy but didn't know to make it through work. Thumbs up brother. Thanks! Good video, I definitely will go see a Dr. I been working thru the pain, at the gym, I'm pretty stubborn and work around it and thru it, been a month or so, usually pain tolerant , but stubborn, been lifting heavy most of my life, powerlifting, etc. but sometimes when I work out , I seem to numb the pain a little and its ok but stiff as hell and Hurts a lot on some exercises than others, for some reason when I do back, like lat pulldowns and try get a full stretch it tends to hurt more or make is worst, then sometimes when I'm at my computer or laying in bed it numbs a little then gets really stiff and can't raise it almost to mu side or front , so after watching your video, I probably definitely have a tear, but my best guess, Thanks for the video.

    Hi. I recently had some sort of injury in my shoulder and the doctor said it was tendonitis. However, its been 2 weeks since, I now have full movement in my shoulder but I cannot lift from that arm due to that shoulder. What do I do?

    Very many thanks Dr Candy. I’ve been used to doing wall press-ups and got on very well. However, as I have slightly pronated shoulders I followed the advice of someone here on KZread. His advice was instead of having the palms of the hands flat against the wall use the sides of the hands and slide them down the wall. However, on doing so something happened in the middle of the left shoulder and it was very painful for several days, but seems better now. Any idea what could have been the problem? BTW, I have no plans of doing that exercise again!

    I injured my shoulder about a month ago. If I move my arm straight out fully extended and over my head I get the 2cd most pain which is more to the inside of the shoulder. If I move my arm 45 degrees out from my body fully extended over my head not as much pain just a little. If I do the same straight to my side, the same result, a little pain but not as much as straight-out in front. Now, I get the most pain if I move my arm fully extended over my head in front of my body, a crossed my chest, very painful. The pain seems to be coming from the inside of my shoulder. Care to make an educated quess at the injury ? I'd very much appreciative it. I do go in for an MRI the end of March. I'd appreciate any advice as it my help me to prepare for the injury. I tried the movements you recommended, wow they worked like a champ. Reaching overhead without extending but doing it at more of an angle was a great help. Thanks for any help you can provide, have a great day my friend. You are definitely on my to-do-list to help me deal with this injury. I do have a torn roto cuff in my other shoulder but went to PT and have continued to do some intense workouts at home and I think I may be able to avoid surgery in that shoulder, especially if I continue to improve the way I have been. Just wanted to add this, because of my torn roto cuff in my other shoulder I knew the different tests. So the one test I can not do is putting my hand behind my back and then moving my hand off my back straight out, I can not move my hand off my back. But I was tested in that movement to compare my strength to my torn roto cuff shoulder so I know I could move my hand off my back straight out even with resistance from the Physical Therapist. Now I can not even move ot off my back. Do you think this is a serious injury ? What muscles would that be ?

    So if I can't raise my arm without pain, what are the steps to fix it? I've already went to physical therapy for pain but now its worse than before.

  • @More4Life

    @More4Life

    5 ай бұрын

    That depends on the cause of it, so I can't tell you the specific steps in your case. Not all physical therapy is the same, so just because one place didn't help doesn't mean another PT couldn't help you... But there are also cases that require surgery. That may or may not be the case for you. I wish I could give you a better answer, but in this case, the answer is "it depends". Good luck though. 🙏

    Thank you for this video! Do you know what the problem might be if the problem is opposite? I.e., can lift above head with pain, but thumbs up hurts a lot, thumbs down and lateral raise only hurts a little? Stupidly I've been squating on Smith machine with one arm, and I think the bar rested on my acromion bone rather than squarely on the back.

  • @More4Life

    @More4Life

    4 ай бұрын

    It's hard to say for sure without evaluating it. If it hurts right at the acromion where the bar was hitting, it could be an acromioclavicular (AC) joint problem where the shoulder blade joins the collar bone. If the pain is more in front of the shoulder, it could potentially be a biceps tendinopathy as the long head of the biceps can help to flex the shoulder with thumb up but not with thumb down. Again though, you'd have to get it checked out in person to make sure.

Can’t lift arm feels weak I can straighten my arm in front of me but I have to move it myself with my other arm & I can wiggle my fingers. But shoulder blade and on top hurts I cannot lift nor lay on that side of my arm… went to hospital he said he hit a nerve and my arm will just have to come back by it’s self

  • @More4Life

    @More4Life

    11 ай бұрын

    The axillary nerve that innervates your deltoid (shoulder muscle) can occasionally get injured from getting a shot in the arm. Unfortunately, what they told you at the hospital is correct... you just have to wait for the nerve to recover on it's own.

  • @More4Life

    @More4Life

    5 ай бұрын

    Sorry to hear that (I'm assuming your meant 40 degrees and got an extra zero in there). There are a lot of issues that could cause that after a scapula surgery (muscles, nerves, contractures, etc), so unfortunately I can't point you in the right direction without having evaluated the problem. The best help that I could offer would be to see a PT in your area to get it figured out. Good luck!
