Some comments. The trajectory of the Iskander M/ Kinzhal is NOT fully ballistic. Both can maneuver! In addition, not only the speed of the interceptor missile is important, but also the radar device and the computers involved must be able to recognize AND track the trajectory of the incoming missile. The performance of the Patriot missiles in Saudi Arabia against technically obsolete short-range ballistic missiles has been absolutely disastrous. In addition, in connection with the damage to one system in Kyiv, it has also become known that all 32 rockets (8 launchers with 4 rockets each) were NOT successful in defending against the Kinzhal attacking the Patriot system itself!

The Patriot system cannot intercept Kinzhals, period, end of story! Zelensky is so desperate that he's literally trying in any way to degrade Russia and if you have noticed, he didn't admit a single Ukrainian failure. He never said that a Russian projectile hit the target and destroyed it. He always goes with stories like 'downed 30 out of 31 drones', 'the debris hit the object' etc etc. He never said anything like 'our warehouse was hit and we lost this or that'. And we all know how many times they were hit. Downing kinzhal is a made up story to degrade Russia while giving credit to the USA. Kinzhal launched from mig31k takes only 2 mins to reach Kiev. Well, good luck downing this projectile. The Patriot is well known as an ineffective system and such a system can't be advanced to that degree to shoot down Kinzhals in a few years, it takes decades.

My only question is this: What destroyed the Patriot battery at Kiev? The system was " damaged " because the radar was hit,and the other two units were not damaged( the command center/ truck, and the launch tubes) since they can be scattered,but without the radar,nothing else works.

There are videos online of what really happened. Russia sent out a wave of cheap cruise missiles, baiting over 20 shots from the Patriots, costing over 200 Million USD, with the actual Khinzal missile coming in later and destroying the Patriots. And as Ukraine is a peaceful democratic nation, the Ukrainians who published the video were sentenced to over 20 years of jail. Ukrainian propaganda has been getting tiring, "missile fragments" from "completely downed missiles" have been doing things like putting heavy duty elevators at Odessa out of action... At this point its getting ridiculous. EDIT - Just watched the video, the Patriot missile shown at 3:11 was from the aforementioned video, except it was cut to not show upwards of 10 other patriots being launched along with it.

no radar can see the kinzal incoming and none can catch it after it passes. the plasma wave leading the kinzal is a radar sheild that no radar can engage.

Your comment is wrong! The hypersonic speed of a Kinzhal +12000 km/h or Iskander +6000 km/h in midcourse doesn't matter, the Patriot can only intercept both missiles in terminal phase so can only defend a relative small area. The speed in terminal phase of a Kinzhal drops bellow 3500 km/h and Iskander bellow 3000 km/h, the Patriot PAC-3 can achieve +4000 km/h very fast a few seconds after launch so when the Patriot intercepts the Kinzhal or Iskander in terminal phase the Patriot at that moment is even faster. In midcourse Patriot doesn't have a chance to intercept Kinzhal or Iskander but also not intended for then other systems like Aster 30 Block 1NT, SM-6 Block IB, SM-3, Arrow-3, and GMD have to do the job.

@@arsenijearsen3041 Nope, even a sophisticated glide vehicle with a speed of mach 24 entetring the atmposhere wil slow down to mach 10 decending and in the terminal phase slow down to maximum mach 4 hitting the target. Pure physics density of the atmospere at low levels makes it imposible to reach higher speeds.

Every intercontinental ballistic missile travel over mach 20 but it not hipersonic because cant fly that speed in atmosphere, but hipersonic missiles can travel over mach 5 in atmosphere and even changing trajectory, because of that it's impossible to shoot them and only Russia have them, others are mockups.

The Patriot was Destroy by the Kinzhal missile.

When you crunch the numbers, no chance. Just from detection (8 seconds) and consider the height which is about 20 Km. Now there is a 100 Km window the Patriot can hit things in, 24 seconds for target to cover that ground. So, 16 seconds for the Patriot to go from the ground to 20 Km target. Now, it is going to be less than 100Km due to the zone Patriot is operating in. Still 16 seconds to get to 20 Km up from standing start (Against gravity). Good luck. I suspect the Patriot has less than 8 seconds to get to the target. Just not possible.

In Ukraine, everyone has already seen how Patriot can fight against Kinzhal (dagger)... Patriot fired 32 missiles (the entire division - 8 launchers - fired) and could not shoot down one Kinzhal (dagger). The result is that Patriot was destroyed near Kiev.

Russia is being held off by Ukraine simply being supplied by the West with watered-down platforms and limited blocks at that, which you also know. Russia wouldn't stand a chance if the West actually got involved in the conflict, save only their nuclear arsenal. It's rampant with undisciplined soldiers and leadership as well as major corruption, which has affected their military projection. Like i said, they have major issues to deal with internally, and Putin knows this. I think Putin was counting on walking in like in 2014 with little to no resistance. He should have never waited for Biden to enter office to attack Ukraine.

While the launch interval of anti-missiles is 4 seconds. You can launch 4 anti-missiles in time. The probability of hitting a tactical non-maneuvering target with one missile and without interference is 0.6-0.8, i.e. at least 3 missiles per target are needed for a guaranteed hit. How many of them will be needed for the dagger is not clear, and there is no time. P. S. AN/MPQ-53 radar can not work with targets faster than 7920 km/h at all And the maximum speed of the pac 3 anti-missile is 5063 km/h. So think for yourself whether patriot can hit the dagger or not.

US Patriots the 1990s brainchild anti-balistic technology. Its performance in the Gulf War 91 is dismal. It suffered several firing stucks.

Nice review, however to this date 8 patriot systems were given to ukraine and reports indicate that either 1 system or none are still operational in Kiev, the rest were destroyed with, at least, two of them by kinzhal missiles confirmed and not by a swarm of missiles. So based on facts it is more likely that patriot systems will succumb to kinzhal missiles, hypersonic or not is irrelevant if they are effective.

Even the not upgraded patriot anti missile missiles,can defense and intercept all the advance hypersonic missile in Russia,how much more the most advanced and most upgraded patriot missile in the US to defense and intercept all the advance hypersonic missile in Russia,this is truly work.👍

It is simple: IT CAN'T!! Why? Because the Patriot is old and not designed to be this kind of weapon. Operators don't know what is attacking them and therefore they can't respond proper way. Patriot radars can't see the target and when they see it it is too late to respond. The speed of the Kinzal rocket is 205 km per hour! that means you have 20m3 40 seconds to see it and calculate the trajectory. Kinzal is changing its trajectory so every slow movement makes differences in hundreds of kilometers. That just can't be provided by patriot rocket. So think and don't listen to propaganda videos.
