$10 challenge Step 1: Know someone who will bankroll your first few hundred dollars in sales. 🙃 I liked the first season when it was a legit fresh start and something others could more easily replicate, but if you guys are going to use all of the connections you've accumulated by running your business, then I guess I'd rather just watch videos of you guys running your business.

Yeah agreed i like chases channel but this completely missed the mark... I'm 7 minutes 45 seconds in and they are about to sell on whatnot... using your audience that no one else would have starting out and calling it restarting your business.... clickbait. Hopefully they take the feedback here and start over.

This honestly felt less like the original $10 challenge and more like a "connection challenge". It would've been better if there was atleast a variety of "fast nickel" methods used in this one video instead of every single item being sold to one person only. I'm still excited and here to support the challenge because I'm sure it will be entertaining at the very least. I'm just skeptical how the rest of the series will stack up. I totally understand that the first season was riddle with issues and took too much time to produce that series how it was originally intended, so I'm not writing this new approach off completely just yet.

  • @sbyamibakura

I loved the original challenge of this, but I have to say that using connections really feels like it defeats the purpose of the challenge. For most people they're not going to be able to do things like that at least at the start of their journey in trying to grow a business like this. I wish you'd do it without all the extra bells and whistles; feels like it makes it less of a challenge.

They had fun doing it so they wanted to do it again, but this time change things around so it's not exactly the same because they've already done it one way, now they want to do it a different way and include everyone in the company. Maybe if it was made a little more clearer in the videos what their intention was people wouldn't be as negative about it because it seems like it's going to be a fun little series for them and trying to reach $50k in 5 months starting from $10 I imagine even with connections is still going to be very very hard to do.

Absolutely love the new series. Great to see you guys getting back to the roots of the thrill of the hunt!!! Contrary to what others have said, you'd be hard-pressed not to use the connections you have at your disposal and to be honest, I think a lot of people are overlooking the other work it takes to make something like this happen. A good example is that the crew are very personable and friendly towards each person no matter if a sale takes place, what this does is it ensures that with each interaction you are able to immediately lay the groundwork for a new connection, just based off of a positive first impression and friendly attitude. Doing this all day long at conventions or on trips is tiring and requires you to have to long term outlook in each moment which is an acquired skill. Seeing some of these comments frustrated with the use of connections in this series makes me think several things, first; that you can't please everyone- lots have been asking for a return to hunting games in the wild (myself included) and you delivered! I am thrilled with the direction of this series and am sure lots of others are too. But second; I think this opens a fantastic opportunity for either a new series or video idea- a video on finding, managing, and maintaining connections with other likeminded collectors, resellers, store owners, convention goers, etc. Aside from the awesome discord community, maybe give us all some insight into Chase and the crews respective experiences with forming their existing network of connections and maybe get some input from some of those people themselves! Just as buying collections direct online will never replace the thrill of the hunt, discord will never replace the human touch required to form great lasting relationships or land those sweet deals. Either way, good to see you guys responding to feedback. There will always be criticism, speaking for myself, I will remain hard to please lol. Look forward to the rest of the series!

Agree with everyone else about not using a connection like this as it pretty much ruins the challenge. On top of that, you say you can't use money you haven't earned yet... but like I'm not sure it makes much sense to be like "sold this to our connection for $20 so now we have $20 more cash to play with" and somehow magically just have... cash? This isn't realistic in the slightest. If you were to actually go out to yard sales with $10 you aren't going to magically produce more cash in your hands... you only have $10. Even if you're getting someone to venmo/cashapp you the money, you don't have that money in your hand... it's digital. You're skipping a LOT of what makes the starting out process a challenge. It the issue is that $10 is just too little to be going out for a whole day to buy stuff (since you'll likely just spend it all at one yard sale) then just increase the starting amount to like $100 and that way you can at the very least buy several things and make it worthwhile to go out hitting up yard sales in the first place. That would give you enough inventory to list some stuff on ebay and turn a profit quickly.

We're people. We don't like changes. I get that, but the way the connections are use as a "rosebud" hack here, really kills it for me (Sims cheatcode, pepz). I actually enjoy the normal garage shopping way more, than this gamified edition of "lets make my penny grow" S2-refresh. And don't get me wrong, the original "Starting from scratch" was a golden series, and I really enjoyed that. Sometimes a season 2 of something golden, is fare more valuable than a new take, with a chance of ruining the concepts we likes the most. I guess that why LTT really got the Scrapyard Wars-series flying, as they made it very clear that their "Hi I'm LLT staff" shouldn't impact each deal they made. Same thing can be said about using existing connections. I get that the chance could be driven by a business decision, to improve the amount money made, while filming the series, but, it really huts the "orginal" (first golden take) on what the best "starting from scratch" series should look like. With that said, I really enjoy the channel, so keep up the good work! 👍

Let me start by saying I've been fan for a very long time. Been watching all of your content since the Top 10 w/ the marbles from your neighbor. You inspired me to become a reseller. I figured if you can do it in Ypsi. I recently watched a Caleb (Phoenix) video on his 3rd channel about all the hate he gets from the internet. That sent me down a rabbit hole of the haters/anti-resellers. They make some very good points. This kind of bothered me because if you account for home equity, the value of your barn, the value of your collection, the value of your inventory and other securities you may hold. You are a millionaire if not a multi by now. You should never pocket watch, and I understand where you started and how hard you've had to hustle to get where you are today. BUT.... This is a shameless play to ignore all of that and go back to justifying lowballing people because we "only have" x dollars to spend. Which is a self imposed limitation and it is just a lie. So how much is enough? Net worth of 10 Million? 20? When people ask you "honestly tell me what it's worth". You do not directly lie to their face and you give them the truth. So as a multi millionaire why don't you go into every negotiation assuming that everyone has asked you this?

Fan of the channel but this is not a challenge nor realistic for everyone. I myself have a plug and can probably pull a challenge like this off but not everyone has a plug.

An unrealistic challenge due to previous connections. However. It’s a great example of how the fast nickel and connections can build value faster than most people think. Honestly very informative as someone who has realized is a slow dime seller.

Like everyone else has been saying kinda not really a “challenge” when you have a whale just buying everything you get, no one else realistically can do that, also kinda just an ad for your discord

Saw whatnot and immediately said naw. We dont have 1000s of people buying stuff live every week. I liked the ebay method more personally because it is more realistic to the masses.

Wouldn't make for an entertaining video if they'd bought the first item and then had to wait a week for it to sell on ebay auction now would it. Plenty of resellers out there that are easy to find and would love to have someone sending them through deals daily like this. Most people just dont want to put in the work to find them.

The connections aren’t relatable to everybody right NOW but, you’ll build connections once you get out there and start doing this stuff! It would take weeks to film a single episode, maybe months if you had to sell it on eBay before buying more. I’m on board with this series and I know lots of people will complain, keep the episodes coming!

@@ChaseAfterTheRightPrice well hopefully after a little time starting this challenge I can upgrade. about to start a new move to a new state and plan on hitting the ground running with the challenge. Although I’m going to sale some of my current collection as well for a head start. Hoping to use this to pay off some debt!

I work at a flea market with 800+ vendors lots of items and people there that change every day…… I want to expand online but p2p sales instead of using a platform like eBay…. I dont see the benefit of using their platform because even in cases you can prove a bad buyer is lying they still usually side with the buyer over seller (I had a graded card and they showed a damaged graded card totally different id number) anyways I prefer p2p and would love to know if there are any good communities for that
