I just bought a set of these yesterday for my 2023 Passport AWD! I scrubbed the sidewall of the OEM CrossContact Sport on a curb and destroyed a tire. Replaced all 4 with the Pirelli Scorpions. The steering response is much better and I can FEEL the road through the steering wheel (the OEM Continentals were quieter but they had dead steering). The Pirellis do drive more planted. The OEMs transmitted the small bumps, the Pirellis absorb them. I hope this helps someone

I literally just put a set of these on my ‘04 BMW X5 three days ago. They replaced a set of Michelin MXV4 All Seasons which were the OEM tires. In addition to being slightly less money than the Michelin’s, the warranty is better and they are absolutely silent on the road. I researched tires and read road test reviews before making my decision and for all the naysayers out there, Tire Rack tested these against several other top rated All Season SUV tires and declared these the overall winner. No paid promotion there, just doing what they do every day. We had a major rainstorm the day after I installed them and these tires were rock solid in near flooding conditions at freeway speeds. They handle well, they ride well and we will see how they wear. They also took almost no weight which is always a sign of a quality tire. They were also on sale for $140.00 off the regular price of 4 which is always nice. So far, I’m extremely happy. Time will tell.

I've owned a set of Pirelli Ice Zero FR winter tires for a few years (for my 2015 Elantra) and I've been more than impressed by their performance. This year I was caught out a bit by an early light snowfall and had to drive home from work one day on my 'all-season' (aka three season) tires and was able to compare it to worse conditions a couple weeks later when I'd changed over to the Pirellis and the difference was night and day, especially when accelerating from a stop sign. As I own a two wheel drive car I'd rather have the extra traction of dedicated winter tires.

They should have used the "Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus" for this test, which is an all-weather tire with mountain snowflake rating. The one tested here is a conventional all season M+S tire. The way to remember which is which is by looking at the tread pattern: the all terrain Scorpion has the P & S block pattern that is very unique (and great for marketing, yet missed out here).

The Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 are one of the higher rated dry/wet tires on TireRack reviews and scores very well on their dry and wet track tests, comparable to the Michelin Cross Climate 2 without being a directional tire, allowing for criss cross tire rotations.

My experience is a new all season tire does alright in the winter but turns to crap as the tread depth goes down. A snow tire has good snow performance through most of it's life. These tests are always on new tires while the real world we use that 70k promise. I have three vehicles and a dedicated winter wheel set for each. Being able to use more of the life of the tire maybe equals out to no additional cost. In the past I'd be buying new all seasons in the fall with 40% tread remaining.

So good that my other car with Toyo a36 granted not a good tire but brand new 9/32 and they felt like they have significantly less traction in the heavy rain it was a totally different league, so different that if I didn’t think it was a waste I would swap them immediately, hence the reason I have been looking

Hi. Interesting video, though not a true all terrain IMHO, they performed well for a road bias tyre. If you want a Pirelli AT, you should look at the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus, this is a seriously good tyre, with good road manners but can cut it off road with some of the best ATs around now. In some ways similar to the Grabber AT2 but with a unique tread pattern, good side wall protection, and 3 Peaks rating. We have only had them four months to be fair and only done about 3 K miles, but they have been impressive in snow, clay and forest trail. They are fitted to our DII which has a tuned TD5, but it is stock other wise and we run standard size 235 70 16 tyres. Have run overs size before on Defender, RRC, XJ, etc., in different makes and types including Maxxis, BFG, General, the Pirelli's are as good as all these. Keep up the good work.

It's always going to perform well because it's a Jeep. They should have tested this tire on a AWD Honda CRV or Chevy Equinox etc...Which have basic AWD systems and don't have any locking diffs or off road modes.

After being dissatisfied with the snow handling of most all seasons I have used dedicated seasonal tires for many years. I'm trying Michelin CrossClimate 2 ("all climate") tires now and so far they are better than all seasons BUT I haven't driven in snow yet. All seasons may be ok when new but not genuinely good for any particular environment and get worse, in each, as they age. I'm curious how these would compare to all climate tires which do get the 3 peak mountain snowflake rating.

Most people will buy into the confusion thinking all season tires are decent on snow in fact they aren't (it's a marketing thing). I never generalize about a whole brand, it depends on the specific tire model and size. There are good and bad Michelins too.

Yea if all you do is drive in dried up river beds, mud etc. Don't get road tires. But then those tires are loud and rough on the highway so no free lunch.

This is one paid sponsorship you shouldn't have accepted. You put worse tires on the Jeep than it came with. These tires are worthless in the wet or snow.

Why not compare it to the superior BFG Trail TerrainI I have them on my 2012 Grand Cherokee. Yeah I looked at Pirelli Scorpions AS+3 and my tire dealer was pushing them but chose the Trail Terrain. Owner of my tire place a former IMSA racer would have talked to me about my choice if he disagrred. I have been buying tire from him since 1987. Spent well over $20K with them. And my GC goes down sketchy farm roads and across fields with my herding dogs and commutes on DC area interstatest 75mph + and the tires perform great.

Because Pirelli provided these tires free of charge to give an honest opinion. Perhaps BFG will send them free tires as well in return for a review

Not true at all. I have Scorpion Zeros (not the verde, regular W pattern zeros) I can drive in 8" of snow in my Land Rover zero issues and they are not even a snow tire. Never been stuck in them. Not great on ice but no all season tire is. If you want the best use road tires summer and winter rated tires in the winter.

TERRIBLE VIDEO. But sponsored by the tire manufacture. Not a good review, leaned too much to Perelli and no tires to compare too. Plus some very stupid comments: Not only in CO, can you drive up a mountain to get to snow; bozo. How about MT, ID, WY, UT just to name others? Three peak snowflake symbol is on many tires that are considered all weather and DO NOT melt off in summer. Ludicrous statement of the video. Get your act together and do some research!

Commonsense could have told you we do not or never needed 2 different types of tires, In the past tire companies just wanted to make extra money by selling a product by deception that making you think we needed 2 types of tires . It has never been true, and always a lie. tires made with a good solid wear rubber and proper tread, will always win, And now they been deliberately selling a lie newer sized tires on vehicles, The facts are well hidden re bias tires for safety as compared to radials. You never hear about the fact that radial tires have a very weak side wall structure compared to bias tires, A side wall of todays tires, are never to be used in off road and rough terrain, Just wait and compare a side wall being pinched as to a bias tire, No comparison as to witch will stand up longer, And just watch them sell you a real expensive tire that does not need air, but the style they show is an excellent tire that will probably get torn up or stuck with branches through it, Just as the cheap and useless aluminum rims they are selling you looks good, but just how often do you have to buy a new rim, because it gets damaged, by continually changing tires at a tire shop, Just look at the the tire machine scrapings they make that ruins the rim, and they sell you another rim, because yours can't be sealed, ( A brilliant way for manufactures to get more money from you as an after sales market trick) Asshole and shitty music, WHY DO IDIOTS ALWAYS ANNOY PEOPLE WITH THEIR USELESS MUSIC?
