As a dog trainer, a common question I hear is, can my dog sleep with me in bed?
I don't see any behavioral benefits, but it can be a factor to consider with many dog behavior problems.

I adopted one of the dog-aggressive male dogs from a small shelter near the Michael Vick property and saw Gracie several times at dog rescue events in Richmond (she was a breeding female at the dogfighting ring on his property in VA). That dog sleeps with me an has never shown any aggression toward me or any human in over 10 years, but he has needed rehab NOT to get in a fight with another dog. I am a strong advocate for dog handlers to take obedience classes and NOT make excuses. It is a cheap and lifetime skill you can use with any dog you meet!
