The 50’s flashback storyline is solid. The 2015 lovers storyline is brutal, painfully brutal.

Lots of Godzilla Toho movies have great fun human characters but all in all the movies are more about the Monsters.

@@SebrickLizama maybe about 20% of the runtime. It's very well balanced and paced. You almost don't want to see him because bad, bad things happen when he shows up.

Godzilla Minus One story line and acting make Monarch L.O.M. look like a bad B movie.

It's the same lesson Stephen Spielberg (accidentally) learned shooting Jaws. Your monster is SO much more powerful when it's just the idea and impressions for much of the story.

Well, if you don't care about the story, why not just wait until the "all godzilla scenes" compilations that will pop up on youtube? If the human characters are too shallow like in GvK people complain, if they're the focus people also complain

@@assassin8636 Besides Cranston and Serizawa, others are alright. Ford Brody tho sometimes acts like a plank of wood...

It's hard to keep an adventure show like this going at a high level. The first two episodes were fun though, so fingers crossed...

Nobody is watching any Godzilla film for the humans

Probably the best thing about this show is that we finally get to get an idea about what life in the monsteverse is like post Godzilla 2014

The human elements kill the show quickly. The asian girl so far is pretty insufferable. So far, I'm not impressed at all.

Episode 1 and 2 are aight is had some Kaiju action but not much Godzilla SO FAR tho

This is the same issue ive been having with Transformers movies over and over, u could watch some of these movies and remove the human scenes and still would be a better movie, also been waiting for a Transformers movie made just with Transformers

The problem with those transformers films is that they treated the autobot and decepticon as movie props, visual noise and set pieces. They weren’t characters at all. In fact they wasted the autobot and decepticon in those Michael bay films in terms of personalities, back-story and motivation.

Human problem his answer is its not a monster story.....SMH he completely missed the point.

Can we not pretend like GVK became so goofy coz they added more screentime & emphasis on the monsters? And settled for shallow characters & fast pacing? Think this series is giving us much more quality & decent screenwriting, better than the past few movies.

Nope. GVK was awesome. The movies are about the monsters and the TV can be about the humans.

Godzilla (2014) had the best human characters. They fit naturally with the world and their scenes were compelling. Sure hope Dr. Serizawa makes an appearance in this show.

Walter White was the best part of the human side of the story. After that it was downhill.

Been crap so far. Wish I’d watched this before subbing and watching it.

We're making a tv show and we have to keep the budget in check: make it more about the boring stuff

Don’t have a problem with the humans of this franchise.

This will be the next game of thrones epic level show

There is no human problem because such movies need human leads for the audience to better understand and emphasize with the story

Sadly some godzilla fans just want a 2 hour fight scene as we can see in the comments. Sadly nothing will please those ones

The show creator is blatantly saying they want to make a show about a family, and secrets of that family. Make a drama, and not rely on an established fan base for kaiju. This is just the Halo series all over again.

Why did you did not show Godzilla that's not 🚫

The first two episodes are boring, the charactes are not interesting, they do not connect with the audience. The young Asian lady is insufferably, their Randa family story line is flat, its like watching drama series. It's another classical bait and switch. They should just call the series Monarch: legacy of Randa.
