Can materials mimic the human body? | Elison Matioli | TEDxArendal

Prof. Dr. Elison Matioli’s research focuses on the development of new semiconductor device concepts for more efficient use of energy and less heat generation in electronics.
Integrating cooling inside future electronic chips? Applying new materials that can learn in future computers? Elison Matioli is a professor of electrical engineering and the director of the POWERlab research laboratory at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland. His research focuses on the development of new semiconductor device concepts for more efficient use of energy and less heat generation in electronics. These devices are becoming ubiquitous in our modern world, from the ever increasing dependence on data centers to the electrification of our society. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

One would hope so given that materials are what the human body is made of.

Take a look at that one task which casts the tallest shadow on your to-do list. You know the one. That monster, that ghoul of a task that looms larger than life. Today is the day you turn the tables and shine a light on it. See that it was all just an optical illusion. Watch the shadow shrink. That one task is far less scary than fear would have you believe. It will be an ironic moment when you simply set your mind to accomplish it. And now... do it. Do that one thing today. Break the spell. Even if it’s just the first tiny steps - take them. You are more powerful than you know.

Yes. Materials can "mimic" the human body, but it can never mimic the human soul.

I have a cochlear implant but it's "half" removed I was 12. I can vouch for this if I was truly treated like a robot I'd be in worst situations: dead or prison but I am still fighting for my rights to my anatomy

God loves you and takes care of you for the arrival of this message to you. God is the one who created this universe and He is the one who controls it. The biggest loss that a person loses in this life is to live while he does not know God and the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the prophets and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. From the great intelligence of any person before he He believes in something or does not believe in it, that he read it, study it, and understand it well, and then he has the choice and judgment on it. I advise you to do so before you do not have time for that.
