Quick thing: when a baby is about to happen, you can "Gather for Childbirth" with the tab on the pregnant colonist. That skyrockets the healthy child chance, while just shoving the doctor in the room and locking it just smooths their brain into a perfect sphere and the mother ends up doing all the work.

I am genuinely amazed that I'm apparently top comment somehow(?). Hell, I had the same exact situation happen on my first playthrough in January, and I was only told about it after the childbirth went through with an unfortunate sickly result. She was kind of just... downed on the floor and I didn't notice until just before, and you can tell it was too late cause it *happened* happened while she was being rescued to her own bed (keep in mind "rescued" as well).

Part 2, please: I'd love the idea of a wandering traveller limping to your base with a space suit. Edit: maybe it's because I'm new here, but I just realized (upon hearing Watney, the Botanist) the detail that the colonists have the names of the characters in that Andy Weir's book. Loved it. Earnt a subscription just because of that.

Maybe some other power put the beavers on the moon to toy with the crew. Don't believe the media. Do your own research.

The switch battery idea can work, but only as an emergency backup. Basiclaly pyu have one battery behind a switch, sharge it and then turn the switch off. If the main batteries suffer a zzzt or something ypu can switch on the last battery to keep up power flow while fixing the primary batteries.

Idk if you've figured this out yet or if someone has already mentioned it to you, but the deep drill pulling up a seemingly random kind of stone chunk despite being on marble isn't a bug. Deep drills, when not drilling into steel, plasteel, or any other specific thing, will pull up a random stone chunk type.

Also, with mods like SeedsPlease (you need seeds to plant vegetables) you could replicate the whole "I only got potatoe seeds; I'm gonna' engineer the f**k out of this to get out of here alive".

Actually its a good idea to have some reserve batterys behind a deactivates switch. In case something happens to your first set of batterys, you always have a reserve to keep the heaters going. Hydroponics and greenhouses get they own energy grid anyway.
