A person might think that after seeing one pair of shoes shined, there would be no point in watching another shoe shine video. No more mystery, suspense, or excitement. One would be sorely mistaken....... Clearly you have shown us that with skill, passion, and a little imagination, every shoe shine can be a work of art!

The magic of art is that it's the only way you can do the same thing over and over again, and get a different result each time.
Am I the only one who find shoe shining relaxing?

The music adds to it
“Leave to cure in the sun for a couple of days...” There speaks someone who doesn’t live in the UK! We’re lucky to get two days the same in terms of weather. If I left my shoes out for 2 days I’d need to claim on my insurance for flood damage...

yeah two days sun is ok but that would be on a Tuesdays in June and maybe a Friday in July ...
Since I’ve started watching your vids, I’ve been looking at men’s shoes with a new respect for those who know how to take care of their shoes as opposed to those who don’t. It’s a fun new thing to explore.

I have too. It's surprising that so few men shine their shoes.
Excellent video. I have a couple of questions 1. Shoe Tree: how long should you leave the shoe tree for the shoe to regain its form? Should it be everyday? 2. What is the order of cleaning materials used? I.e acetone, leather conditioner etc?
And that is why I love this channel Ladies and Gents! Saving something from an almost ruined state and restoring it to near new is my idea of recycling.
My favorite part of your videos is seeing shoes come in with hideous cross lacing and you returning them with proper lacing.
Oh Elegant Oxford your videos are so inspirational...makes me believe everything can be fixed and restored and even shine more than before. Thanks.
Perfect job of restoration and cleaning and shoe dye. Unbelievable transformation of something ready for trash!! Thanks for a wonderful video.
I can't tell you how satisfying that was to see...but then again, that's all your videos lol fantastic my man
Great job, Preston! They look MUCH better!
I have no idea why I love watching your channel. I don’t have these kind of shoes it u legit watch at least one video a day. lol great content structure, voice, I just love it!
Preston, what you do is labor of love. Thanks for your love man.

It's because the light was behind the shoe and you couldn't fully see the fantastic work that was done to restore them.
That was awesome! you really saved that pair, and the reference to your products is a nice feature.
I look forward to your videos every night as that's usually when you upload in UK time. Call it a nightcap. So thank you and keep them coming!
man you're a true artist. simply breathtaking.
They look like new now. Thanks for sharing this video Preston.
You have to admit how satisfying these videos are like at first you see those pair of shoes and at the end they look almost brand new
Your video soothed my mind (including your voice), now I’m ready for bed. Thanks! Great job, by the way.
You make me want to do something I consider a chore.
I love the honesty of this channel
I try some of your methods to get the crease out of my shoes. but I finally got it I have to buy some bigger shoe trees. Great informative video
Why am I getting so obsessed with your videos ? Can’t stop watching them.
Amazing transformation! Great job!
I have seen a lot of restoration videos but I have found ur videos more appealing. Keep going bro.
The sight of seeing shoes brought back to life is mesmerizing to the soul.
You sir are an artist! Amazing!
I don’t own any shoes like this, not sure if me or my husband ever will, but here I am watching all these. I just want to see him find crustier and chewed up shoes and do his shoe witch craft. Every time I start the video I’m like “that shoe is a goner. He can’t do shit for it” and I’m wrong”

Go on ebay, you can find good quality second hand shoes very cheaply. As long as the soles dont need replacing, you can polish the uppers and have great looking shoes at a great price.
I've never understood how people can be so hard on shoes. You've made them new again.

It's just a biproduct of the feet some of us have. My feet always wear down the inside of the heel in shoes really fast.
Who else let out a sigh of relief/amazement when the shoe tree came out and the shoe was back to its regular shape!
You’re an artist.

obsessed with your material. Keep it up.
Wow, they were really out of shape. I've used a heat gun on low and massaging the leather to get out wrinkles. I think the Shoe Snob had that piece of advice. It worked pretty damn well. Also, it made me decide to buy more shoe trees because it was a complete pain in the ... Great job, and keep up the good work!!
That's a beautiful-looking pair of shoes!!
You are officially the shoe magician... Yessir
it came out so beautiful, congrats!
Ladies and gentleman. Ponce de Leon spend his life time looking for the fountain of youth. He failed miserably. Almost 500 years later (give an take few years here and there) the secret was discovered and until today, unknown to the rest of us humans. If Mr. Soto can eliminate those shoe wrinkles and bring back color and life to those shoes, imagine what he can do for your wrinkled, tired and old face? So, there you go again, shoe shining, the Soto’s way, is an unique fountain of youth for your shoes and who knows....may be you don’t need a facelift after all (just don’t know how the shoe tree will work in that case, but Mr. Soto will figure it out). Another amazing job. May I have a witness and an amen? Ooorahhhh! 👍🏻😀

Archangel Charlie I don’t know the secret, but ask Mr. Soto and I am sure he will make your shoes look like new. As far as your face....well...that will depend on mileage, used and abuse, lack of sleep, drinking habits, shift work, Preferences and how much younger you want to look. Remember...he can make shoes looks great, so....perhaps a bit of this here and there can make you look beautiful...or handsome...perhaps both...... 🧐?

Amazing job .. You really saved them
Of course you can save them Preston! You're Batman!! Nice job!!!
I started using acetone to strip my shoes since watched your videos, and it's just amazing how my leather shoes/boots turned out. I do find out that Using cotton balls is really efficient when stripping the leather cause it takes away the pigment/stains immediately.
The power of the shoe tree! Demonstrated !
I keep watching your videos and think, "What kind of sorcery is this?" You are truly a master craftsman of your trade...

The first thing I did after watching first video on mirror shine from your channel, like a month ago, was to buy a pair of wooden shoe trees. I never regretted it when I managed to remove creases and achieve toe cap shine (although not to the extent you do). Shoe trees are a must thing for shoe lovers...

Agreed, shoe trees are very essential for your shoes and especially after you buy a new pair.
Simply amazing.
The Allen Edmonds Delray. I remember that model when it came out. Was late 2000’s I believe. Like 2008-ish.

"I scrubbbed for about an hour. It was a lot of fun." Man, you're welcome to visit me and have "fun" scrubbing everything in my apartment! :D Anyway, really enjoy looking at your videos, but man, I've yet to have fun polishing shoes! :D I do however understand the _Zen_ aspect of cleaning and refurbishing shoes. It can be a very meditative and introspective process.
Quite amazing. Love the two-tone coloring. There is still that weird crease that is horizontal under the entry. But overall, amazing.
Nice video I love your videos Thank you so much have a great year make some more videos with the worst shoe that you ever did I just love your videos
You are a better man than me for having the patience to scrub with acetone for an hour.
You did an amazing job. 🤯
Dude I love your channel, is so fancy
dose using bigger size shoe tree over stretch the shoes and make them feel larger than before?
@ianturnbow7011
4 жыл бұрын
L Salibe Not exactly. Shoe stretcher do exist and they can be created at home with some basic supplies. Using an ill fitting shoe tree has the potential to severely distort the shape of the shoe. Depending on quality, the heel counter could give out.
@ianturnbow7011
4 жыл бұрын
L Salibe Also, such a large shoe tree was used due to how large the shoe was.
WOW those do not look at all like the shoes you started with. Amazing
So how did the guy react when he seen them like new?
500th comment! As someone who has 9 dress shoes in his closet, I really enjoyed this demonstration. I own a pair of size 10 Allen Edmonds Bel Air spectators, which I will try this technique on.
Love this channel. 👍
We have a very different definition of fun, my good Sir! :)
Amazing work! 👍
I enjoy watching your videos.
Wow, the change shoe trees make.
Wooooow... I have really gone down the rabbit hole of your videos. 😂 I would have never thought those could be saved, let alone look so nice! I always bought inexpensive shoes and damnit... Now you've got new looking at john lobb's or gaziano girling's... And I now know what a bespoke shoe is... Thanks a lot :( Can I have my ignorance back please??
Without watching the video before hand, I can confidently say that those are treasure in the hands of "The Elegant Oxford".

Amazing video, as always. Do you have a video explaning how to remove scuff marks from leather shoes that you get from accidentally scraping the shoe over the pavement sidewalks etc?
Like magic!
Stunning! Did the large shoe trees stretch the shoes out any?
Awesome 👏
The shoe master!!!
I have some with extreme similarity in shape and build quality.
best job done
That's what my shoes look like. It's OK though, they are Aldos. Coincidentally, today I decided to get Thursday Boot co Captain boots and sneakers, and I am getting shoe trees. Those were spectacular by the time they were done.
Oh my goodness... you used Mod Podge Super Gloss on the heels. 'Genius...
I really like watching your videos, they are very relaxing! I have a question for you. Can DocMartin leather boots/shoes be restored in the same manner as the dress shoes that you work with? I have a well worn pair from the 90's that have stretched out to be too large for my feet over time and the heels are worn crooked so my ankle rolls if I'm not careful. I love them and hope I don't have to throw them away.
Great video 👍
Good lord that was quite a restoration
Fantastic x
Preston I don’t know if you read the comments but I’ve creased my Thursday’s Cadet and watching your video I’m seeing I need a larger shoe tree to stretch my creases out but I don’t want to acetone them can I dip them in water to help stretch them out? I love your channel.
Love the videos and have started using the products you recommend and your techniques. I am confused about what you do with an already protected pair of shoes. Like if I have already done the conditioner, cream, and wax, should I add conditioner periodically between waxings? Do I need to remove the wax to properly condition in between, etc.? Thanks for your content.
@johnperez1291

I'm following this question too
@mohdalisyed
4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mitch, you use the conditioner on bare leather. So you should apply conditioner before you put the creme and the wax on. Creme has a little conditioner in it too so every time you use the creme, the shoe gets a little nourishment. You should remove all the waxes and cremes twice every year to apply conditioner and then apply cremes and wax on top. You can use acetone (nail polish remover) or Saphir renomat to clean the shoe. Then apply conditioner, then creme, then wax if you want to.
Hey Trevor love your channel can you please share the link of this background score. Really love that music.
Please do a leather jacket restoration or what you would recommend to maintain the jacket I use one for riding motorcycles and this video is missing from KZread.
