thanks for the vid... never did this before" head stock bearings". noticed some ticking turning the handlebars. tells me they need repacking. it's disappointing how much you have to take it apart to get at them. oh well glad to see it all apart so I know what to expect... wish me luck going to dive in there. I put in a full light kit... hope I don't mess it up, having it dangling with it's guts out. Jared

good luck with it brother ... "update since I did the vid" .. on the bottom fork clamp were the bottom bearing is there is a little notch so you can stick a small flathead screwdriver in to pop off the bearing.. hope this helps 👍

I repacked the bearings OK. but because of my custom light kit, turn signals ect. I was unable to copy your method. I didn't have long enough wires to draw out the post & forks ... what I did was take off the handle bars, but left the top bracket on. I loosened the bottom bracket and then was able to slide the centre tube down and out. the bottom bracket slid down the forks until it touched the fender. then greased the bearings just like you did. looked for the screwdriver slot, no luck .found a depression but not the classic slot... I successfully mangled the ring that holds the O-ring... bent it back and did the bearing race like you did. anyway a win is still a win. I'm at 3400KM travelled. not bad for a recurring maintenance thing. thanks for the help. Jared

Just go to your local auto supply you can get the same bearings and race there

You do that much work to pull out a dry bearing, you replace it imho. They cost next to nothing and it's probably the cheapest Chinese sh*t they could find. Do you happen to know the model of the bearings?
