Nicely done...I think I can only get about 35 or so. Edit: I also moved the Greenland marker to the center of the island.

I got 42, rarest one was Disko island. I'm a bit confused why the inland Brazil ones are considered islands and not for example the area in Sweden between Kalix and Haparanda and up north to where the Torne River forks in Junosuando.

One of the ones in Brazil is Bananal, which is entirely enclosed by a river like Paris' Ile de France or Montreal are (except much bigger); theres another one along the central Amazon too. I think its because the basin is so flat. The one near the mouth of the Amazon and Tocantins rivers is Marajó which is a distinct island afaik (that is, it's not a delta).

Fun fact: Bananal Island in Brazil Is the largest river island in the world

Definitely a good showing! I feel like island names, especially of ones that don't show up on GeoGuessr or don't have large populations, are tough even for those of us super into geography!

I've actually never seen it called that way, it's always labelled as Sjælland on my maps.

As a Canadian, I have no clue what most of those islands above Nunavut are called.

Fun fact: the largest island of the Solomon islands is currently part of Papua New Guinea, but is slated to become its own country of Bougainville this decade. That's the only island in that region whose name I now know (aside from New Guinea itself)

Yeah. I remember hearing that the inland island in Tocantins is apparently the biggest inland island in the world, but I didn't know that there was another one nearby Manaus.

The amazon river can explain for those in Manaus and Para as they are big inland islands separated by the river not sure about the one in the cerrado.

It's basically just a big piece of land that is surrounded by rivers on all sides.

I thought when you hovered over Atlantic Canada it was marking PEI, but then I realized it was a bigger island that's not as famous because it's not as populated.
