Another thing someone could do to achieve a similar result is if you have two Switches is to move a second character to a new island on the other Switch. I did this when I got a Switch and moved off of my sister's island. I retained all of my bells, items, house upgrades, and custom designs but got a fresh island to design. If you're going to do this more than once I recommend moving a filler account first THEN moving over your real character since the island representative isn't allowed to move away.

I started redoing my entire island as well. My beaches aren’t big enough to hold all the homes, but I’m working my way around it. Lol redoing your island is super tedious, but it definitely got me back into the game after hardly ever playing it for a year.

Oh for exteriors too? That'd be so nifty. All the notes I found online just talked about interiors, so I just used Tommo to do the outsides manually 😅

@@peppersprout yes I just double checked rn, when you talk to her she tells you she can revert the exterior right away and that she will talk to the resident about reverting the interior. Still cool the way you did it but if you ever need to do a bunch of villagers this could be a faster solution

When i need new trees I get them from islands, eat a fruit and dig them up. Plant full size from your inventory.

This video just popped up in recommended and you have the most amazing vibes. This was such an enjoyable video and it makes me want to do all this on my island. A blank slate without having to lose all my stuff sounds so nice.

I recently reset without restarting too. Although it is hard to do because you really love your island the way it is you also want to do something else. I get it and I am currently doing a new design on my island thar is turning out great. You can do it too. I believe in you.

Oh yeah! The only reason I might not believe it's not a totally default island is because of the pathway to Redd's beach. I don't think any default islands make it easy to get there. Otherwise, it looks great! 😊

I think it only shows fruit? Not sure, I'll have to check later you've got me curious lol! One time super early on I got a secret beach on the far left of the top, and the cliff didn't extend to cover it up. I felt so lucky🙏They've probably removed from the rolls now though haha

This is a great idea. There are only a few islands where you can get to your secret beach. My recent island has a natural 8-10 space gap between the back tiers (cliffs) yet my beach is off to the left. In my opinion though, your redone ‘reset’ island looks good. : )

❤ I have had my animal crossing for 2 years and I always restart the way you did. I feel I've worked too hard and have become too comfortable with all abilities to start from scratch.😂 Restarting your way, by refreshing the island, actually takes time and allows you to think when you get stuck and want a change theme anyway 😊

i reset so many times and have never completed an island, but i have my current island and the thought of resetting fills me with dread. so i decided i won't be resetting anymore and plan to flatten and rebuild. also, i hate replaying the beginning of the game, having to go back and forth between treasure islands and relearning all the diys i want again. i'm already plotting my next move for my island without resetting!

Proof that this is not a default island 1. None of your hardwood or fruit trees are fully grown. 2. Your river is suspiciously curved. Default rivers tend to have more straight bits. 3. Your house being fully upgraded so early is unusual. 4. Your first 5 villager's house interiors do not match those of a default island. 5. You don't have the furniture placed from getting your 3rd, 4th, and 5th villagers to move in. 6. Genji's house is place upon a hill but as your only Jock villager he would have been one of your initial 2 villagers and as such should have had his house placed BEFORE getting a ladder. 7. You have a canyon leading directly to Redd's beach. (edit to add this disclaimer of I mean all of this lightheartedly. You did a great job and I'm impressed that you've counted so many trees. 37:07 "If you do not believe that this is a default island, post proof." I do not intend to discourage you or the creativity of your channel.)

Maybe the river and canyon parts were a bit harsh, but I feel pretty clever for sleuthing out the part about Genji. It wasn't meant as a "joke" or what's "wrong" but rather to playfully ignore the entire video where we can see that it's not the default to respond to something pepper playfully said at the end of the video.... though now that I type that I realize there isn't a whole lot of difference.... I'm sorry my tone came across the wrong way. I really did love the video and it 100% has the VIBES of a default island, even if it's not foolproof.
