DSGs shift faster with the paddles than you can shift a manual. That's why they are on all the sports cars. CVTs (like mine, sigh) would be faster if they could take all the engine's torque in the equivalent of first gear. Nobody would mind the drone of an engine at its power peak if it meant that the car was faster than an equivalent car with any other transmission! Toyota fixed this problem theoretically by adding a first gear to their CVT. Testing has not shown their implementation to be faster in standing starts (the only time that first gear is used), at least not yet. I think they will develop it and it will show up on their sports cars instead of a DSG.

Dual Pulley, IE Intake (Whine for days!), ECM/TCU tune (IE or EPL),E40 tune (stock fuel system can handle up to E35-E40), Heat Exchanger upgrade( Please do this, heat kills the stock internal supercharger cores and IAT on a dual pulley will also contribute to failure), transmission inserts (go for the polyurethane insert to keep NVH levels down) is what you need (as a past S4 b8.5 owner i would recommend). With all of those mods, you should be close to 400whp and running under 12sec 1/4 mile with plenty smiles per gallon!

Remove the Heat Exchanger and run a Interchiller or Killer Chiller. Put the A/C system to work other than making your ass cool. Also hit with nitrous oxide it will make well over 400 hp. You don't need trans inserts either, he needs a DSG tune to smooth out the pedal input.

With 90k miles on the clock and stage 2/3 Tune upgrade coming up, I recommend the following: - Rear diff oil change - Supercharger oil change and because you have to pull the supercharger out for the oil change do the Intake decarbon and Water pump and kill 3 ducks in one go. - Front and rear tower brace+ rear sway bar (much better budget than a full suspension upgrade) - Transmission tune for extra 1000rpm before upshifts - bigger Heat exchanger - Air intake If you really wanna gogo do the bigger injectors and HP fuel pump for a E85 tune rocket.

@@rot_v wow bro. You threw me back to this. I completely forgot I even typed this up. It’s been an amazing 1yr and 8 months of ownership. I’ve bought the car for that 11.5k and since then I’ve done very little tbh to it. The car has been amazingly reliable other than the normal maintenance had me down for a month in that time. The only issue I had was the mechatronics….ill explain. When I got the car, the previous owner mentioned he had got the mechatronics board replaced and had a receipt for it. Since then he’s completely ghosted me and never actually sent me the proof of the work. So one evening I lost all my even number gears and reverse. It was Autumn of last year. I’ve been meaning to d a video of the job but time constraints to how much time I could apply, lack of GoPro and light didn’t help either. But I did the job myself in a cold garage alone, borrowed a friends place with a lift. I took the whole unit out, board and servos, because there is a place called Ecutesting, they offer lifetime/ unlimited miles warranty. As long as they are the only ones to open/ service the actual unit (yes I can still drop the pan for the filter and do normal oil changes). So it costed me $170 in November of 2022 to get it sent to the UK and back with DHL. Mind you, you need to package it really well and damn near dry. Put it back on myself and I’ve been driving since with 0 issues or codes. The car now has 135.2k miles as of today. I’ve changed the pcv, carbon clean, both of the front wheel hub assembly’s (separate times), one set of brake rotors, 2 sets of tires, one front left wheel suspension spindle (I think that’s how it called) because I broke that notorious bolt that holds the upper control arms. Front upper control arm bushings just last month in October (not hard at all), plugs and plenty of oil changes. Changed the thermostat and water pump out of preventive maintenance, I had absolutely no reason to since it was dry and not one issue prior. But like Matthieu said why not, kill three birds one stone. So I did the sc oil change too. Now the little mods I’ve done: Flush fit spacers from ECS (call them to get 10mm for the front. They fit way better ECS high duckbill spoiler; gloss black Maxton design front splitter and side skirts Relocated the trans cooling to its individual intercooler located below the crash bar (JM Performace in New Albany, IN did the work). The car came with a injen air intake and awe track axleback exhaust cause for some reason I still got the stock resonators on there before the x pipe. And wrapped the roof gloss black to blend the sunroof. I’ve hit a rough patch in life that’s left me to recently applying for a new job. The plan is to get settled as soon as possible so I can start putting money aside for various life choices. One of them being my s4. I’ve had an extremely good experience owning this car, I’ve honestly never had a dull moment with it, in maintenance I’ve learned a lot, being my first v6 and sc. And I’ve had my fun/mischief every other month. Actually this weekend, basically tn I’m going to TN to drive the tail of the dragon for my first ever trip out there. Nov 3-5 with my brother. Super excited. Thanks for asking bro. You’ve got me appreciating that I’ve actually owned the car for almost 2 years now and it’s been the best time of my career ownership so far. I highly recommend it to anyone Edit: I almost forgot. I did also change the main pulley to another stock one as it was going bad. And I did it without removing the bumper nor the radiator rack. Don’t ask me how long I struggled for being lazy about it 😭

Integrated engineering upgrade kit about $1,500 for upper & lower pulleys, new serpentine belt, plus a tune. You will also need a new heat exchanger for the super charger fluid that's around $500.00. So for about 2K plus some wrench time you can comfortably achieve 450 Plus on 93 octane fuel ⛽. That's 100hp over stock. You can do a new intake for about $350 to $500 or just run a high flow air filter for about $50. Tons of Audi 3.0 motors with ddg trans running around the world with these mods with little to no issues. Once you start playing with higher octane fuel and tunes that when you start break stuff more often.

Ok, so I have a 2015 s4 in sepang blue. The windshields are stupid expensive due to the rain sensors but for mods, I have and recommend integrated engineering stage two plus with the dual pulley changes. Also, might I suggest a Roc-Euro intake, makes that supercharger sing!!

Did this repair on my S4 as well. I was worried watching because I remember reading not to have weight on the wheels when removing the X brace. Probably just being over cautious. But glad the fix worked out for you. Mine was acting funny around 70k miles, threw codes at 90k. Did this repair and im now at 138k.

It's currently at 141K and three years later all I had to do is change the DSG fluid, oil, spark plugs, front brake pads, tires and the pulleys, tensioners and belts since. Super great value.

Did the same job on my A5, you know it's just the boards when the error code contains a "e" for electronic failure. If I remember correctly the message on ODIS will also indicate the solenoid that's having connection issues. The boards somehow break internally and by measuring the resistance between the pins on the connector and the pins on the pcb you can find the exact trace/wire that is faulty. Also when doing this job and you have metal tubes on the inside connecting from the gearbox to the megatronics unit, it's recommended to replace them with the new plastic tubes. Ps. Did my job on jack stands and was not too bad. Well done on the job 👏👍

That setup is very similar to a Mercedes Benz 722.6 5 speed auto trans with the infamous conductor plate above the valve body that more often than not fails and does weird shit with trans shifting and sets codes. Cost through FCP Euro was $150 for the conductor plate, trans filter, connector assembly, pan gasket and all the o-rings to reseal everything. Mopar wanted almost $700 for just the conductor plate. Very simple to install the AMG blue top shift solenoids and really firm up shifts. Good find!
