Can I Design the PERFECT Roller Coaster? (Ep. 2 RMC Hybrid)
Ойындар
In this video I will try to design the perfect RMC hybrid coaster, taking inspiration from Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point, Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa, Zadra at Energylandia, and more! This layout has a ton of ride time and a plethora of unique elements.

As others have recommended, I like the term "ejector roll" for the final element. However, since it requires a left or right turn in the track to function, simply clarify with the direction. In this case, it would be a "left ejector roll" since it finishes to the left.

While it's a nice coaster, your notion of it being a "perfect" coaster bothers me a bit. Yes, the coaster has solid pacing and good elements, but making a coaster like this is beyond easy when you have no other constraints. Basically none of the elements reuse other structures, the layout is very spread out, none of the elements are unique/stand out to this coaster, etc. It wouldn’t take too much to make a much less costly and more succinct coaster with this level pacing and more stand out elements/element sequences. In other words, there are so many other things that go into making a coaster great than just pacing and element quality. And like with all other art forms, “perfect” art doesn’t really exist (although I admit it makes a good video title, though I’m getting the feeling that you believe it to be more than that). Also, while it’s definitely helpful at first to mimic other manufacturers' styles and elements, I can tell that your abilities and understanding of element details are well beyond that level. I just feel like you could do more than forcing together a few irl elements without much change to them to make them make sense in the spaces they occupy. I’m sorry for being so critical (overly critical probably) because it really is a good coaster, definitely better than a lot of NL2 creations out there. I just see your potential in making coasters and want to help you get unstuck from where you are currently.

Re-reading my earlier comment, I now realize I was definitely being overly harsh/negative. I have always really enjoyed the coasters you've created whenever I've seen them, especially this one. I love the sequences and element shaping and I can really see your own unique style of layout creation. I was just a little bothered by your "perfect" notion and a couple of the other things I mentioned, although not nearly as much as I had conveyed. And I am very sorry about that. I think I have just had a bit of a pet peeve with people having slightly inflated egos (which I hope you have recognized in yourself) especially because I have been dealing with one for a while myself. Recently have been trying to get over it, thought I probably still have a bit of one now. Other than this though, I can tell you're a really nice guy and just as much of a coaster layout nerd as me. So, If you'd ever like I'd love to colab on something, bounce ideas off each other, or just nerd out about layouts, I'd love to chat with you on discord :)

I understand the criticism about the "perfect" coaster title, it's really just because designing the "best" coaster doesn't sound as good in a video title. Every ride has its flaws, and it's impossible to design a perfect roller coaster. For example, the shaping heading into the zero-g stall feels a little funky, the wave turn isn't as snappy as it could be, the overbank in the second half is too snappy, and the final element is pretty forced and flows kinda weird. This whole series is just an excuse for the coaster nerd in me to do another in-depth layout analysis because these videos are just fun to make.

What still manages to amaze me is the shaping of the elements that's just completely on point. You make it feel just like an actual RMC. Huge kudos! Great job, man! Keep these incredible creations going!
Ok, since my other comment was talking about your opening statement, here's a comment on the ride itself: This is SICK. My biggest belief with roller coaster design philosophy is the layout and pacing have to be priority #1. If the pacing and layout suck, nothing else matters. And I'm a firm believer in variety as well: having inversion after inversion only really works for certain coasters. Here, you beautiful dance the layout from inversion, to turn, to airtime hill, back to an inversion, etc. I think the sequencing is perfect on this. This really would be a #1 contender.
YES! I've been waiting for this
I'd like to call the barrel roll turn the "Smile Roll", since it's incredibly similar to the second heartline on Smiler where the roll leads straight into the banked turn before the brakes.
@beastfisher7996

But the one on smiler is before the turn where as this one is in the turn
Phenomenal ride!! I think the name of the last element depends on the name/theme of the ride…universal was genius with naming the mosasaurus roll based on the theme of the ride

Yeah, more of this video series please. Big fan of your narrated videos, especially when you are walking through your design considerations. As great as the RMC Cheetah, New Texas Giant, Beast, & Boss videos have been it is cool to see you start with a blank canvas like you have done so far. I'd love to see this video series cover B&M Gigas/Inverts maybe even Dive, Gerstlauer Infinity w/ 8+ inversions, New model Vekoma, Intamin Mega(lite?)/Hyper/Giga, compact GCI and/or Gravity Group, out-and-back GCI and/or Gravity Group, etc. Maybe finish it off with a completely custom RMC TREX or S&S 4D Giga or something crazy. Also, can you post the stats on these coasters? 80 seconds of Prime Ride Time? This thing must be almost 6k feet long right?
I want to ride it! Amazing job!
thats an awsome coaster! i would just love some bigger hills like on steel vengance. i think those are really fun.

For that last inversion I would suggest twistman dive or Twirler Bank.
The airtime on this in the back especially would be phenomenal

Considering the color pallet of the ride the last inversion of the ride could be something like "riptide roll" with the coaster as a whole being "themed" to surfing.
It should be called an "Outer banked Twist or Roll" Also, KUDOS on the Design! I'd love to be a test dummy!
In the next installment of these vids can you please do a B&M Hyper Invert Or A wing because those are B&M’s best models? I don’t know about the hyper because you were doing a Mack hyper.

I am not sure about the actual forces on RMCs, but I am curious if it is usual for a ride to have this many moments of strong lateral Gs. Absolutely fluid layout though!
Last element looks like the zero g winder on Taiga, just with not much of an elevation change, so I would go with barrel roll winder.
Elbow roll, Macaroni roll, or something of the sorts and an “-ing” adjective can be added a la “flying” snake dive, such as “ejecting macaroni roll” for some extra thoosie flair!
@EliteCoasters
Жыл бұрын
Macaroni roll 😂😂 I love it!
I was thinking the boomerang roll because it kind of looks like a boomerang from the top and it sound pretty cool
Following the naming of the “Death Roll,” I’d call the last element the “incineroll” as a play-on-words od incinerator and roll. That way, it already presents itself as a more insane version of the death roll. Plus it sounds kinda similar to the mosasaurus roll. That could just be me though.
Insane how suddenly NL2 can appear in a TikTok with millions of views. Nice work :)
Blue Hawk would be another cool one .
Wayyyy better than the intamin blitz. It was amazing but you outdid yourself with this
Maybe you could make the next couple episodes about making a perfect B&M Hyper/Giga and a perfect Intamin Mega/Hyper/Giga, and compare the two? Considering some ride models/classifications can differ in experiences to which manufacturers are building them. You could also do a perfect Mack Launch coaster and compare it to the Intamin Blitz one you made in episode 1
Second comment, but for a video idea (and since I suck at NL2) you should do the ultimate B&M coaster, specifically and airtime focused giga combining and slightly modifying the best elements of existing hypers and gigas. Ex: 325’ drop at 90 degrees, providing -.5g in the back (only .1 stronger the Orion), Orions wave turn, but banking out like RMCs instead of in giving between -.3 and -.5, the longest airtime moment in the world at 8sec (dragster and Ka each so 7.5 sec under .5) then a large ejector hill just a tad more than Diamondback, which is -.7, almost to -1, Fury’s turnaround, alternating off axis speed hills at -.75, Orion’s Belt, then back to back twisty hills like on Orion (hit around -.6 IRL) at -.7. Add some quicker snaps for some of the banking transitions.
I made an element similar to the last one, and called it a “Lazy Roll”, except mine turns 180 degrees and is meant to be taken extremely slowly

The twisted tsunami roll

the outer banked roll
The neck-breaker roll.

Barrel winder for the turned barrel roll the whole ride is Airtime Dragon
i think the last element should be called a "port roll" named after the way you exit the element and also because "left roll" sounded boring. but all in all AWESOME COASTER!
