Under! Great vid! Check this out I googled this ( Jack Nicklaus wins long drive comp) In 1963, Nicklaus won a long drive contest at the PGA Championship with a blow that travelled some 341 yards. That must have been extremely impressive at the time. So I asked the bombers club how fast his clubhead speed was to do this and they said using the new ball and equipment would be around 131mph can you see using the old driver and old ball what it would take?

Persimmon drivers were made from a single piece of persimmon, while laminated woods are as they are named - consisting of layers of wood laminated together then shaped to create the club head. The last significant "Tour" use of persimmon drivers was in 1997. By 1998 nearly all professionals had transitioned to metal woods.

Those irons are nowhere near 100 years old they MIGHT be from the 1950's or 60's. As we all told you before in anot6her video you have a laminated maple driver, not a persimmon. You can call it what you want, but it is harder than persimmon. I am nearing 70 and started playing golf in 1965. Some of the clubs people gave me in 1965 (I was 11 years old) still had wooden shafts. And no inserts in the driver face. They were probably 15 years old. I STILL have my Persimmon driver and 3 wood (Toney Penna) and my old Wilson staff blades from 1972. They don't look very much different that those you have. I also made a video using those old clubs and the old balls from that era (much more difficult to hit straight than the modern ones you used in this video.) And they go basically 15-20% shorter than today's. Yes I shot even par with them on a 6000+ yard course. I enjoy watching your channel, but tell it like it is and don't sensationalize facts.
