Can I beat Noob 2016 GeoWizard?
The 11th video I ever made was entitled simply "Geoguessr - 30 seconds per round #1"
It just looked so old and shit. I had to give it a watch.
Once I'd gotten past the feeble commentary, I thought to myself: Hmm not a terrible score, I wonder how many attempts that took me? 4 or 5 probably. Maybe more. The burning question then was, could I beat it first time?
..Then things escalated a bit.
You can play along with all three games in this video (and will probably win two of them)
BEST WAY TO PLAY: Before you watch the video, play the first round and make your selection.
As soon as you make your selection quickly switch back over to the KZread tab before the time
runs out and watch me play the first round. That way you don't spoil the surprise element
of the video. When you reopen the Geoguessr tab the you will see how our guesses compare. Repeat for each round.

Hi Tom, great video as always! You could also try to do a series where you play old challenge links you did videos on (if they still work, i don't know). I think it would be fun to see the differences between choices / reasoning behind choices. Good luck! :)
I live in Oregon, and the Oregon round got me. In Geoguessr, you're so trained to think "what exotic location is this?" so the idea that it's right in your backyard doesn't even cross your mind.

@20:21 is the spot that one of the maps from Modern Warfare 3 was based. Never been there but ill never forget the look of that place.. lol...

Hi Tom, a couple of clues I picked up on that might have saved some points: The Singapore one had white and black kerbs that you see in Southeast Asia and not Australia. I think there was also a Singapore flag visible in the background at one point. The Paris one: there was an 18th Arrondissement marking on the street sign, which meant it was in Paris. If you learn the "snail" pattern of the arrondissements, you could also get the area of Paris that it is in.
@Michael-kp4bd
Жыл бұрын
Even I could tell that was a classic Singapore looking location. Tom definitely beat me on pretty much every other guess, even his far ones. But it made me feel like at least I’ve learned some things from watching so much geoguessr content!

FYI they have arrondissements in Marseille and Lyon too (although neither have 18). Paris's are really distinctive though, with their cool art nouveau style and green border. Marseille's and Lyon's are more similar, just blue and white.

That Australia guess was bad man haha it was so obviously Singapore. Other than that, you played very well. Good job mate.
On challenge number 2, don't feel too bad. I saw the city name on a poster in the NZ one and a country net domain on a poster on the final round... but timed ones always stress me out and I absolutely picked the wrong countries. Oddly, a few miles off yours for the NZ one!

That 3rd go had some tough rounds and you still managed to beat that 17k. Very nice.
