Dragons are known to be among the strongest Pokemon out there... but can they beat Pokemon Emerald's greatest challenge?!
We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon Emerald Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Dragon types? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

Ok, this is what I love about your nuzlockes. You actually show the whole footage even if you lose at the end. That makes it a lot more entertaining imo because you literally don't know if you'll beat the challenge or not until the end, unlike a lot of nuzlockers who only show their wins which gets boring imo because you know they'll beat it so there's no suspense when it comes to deaths. Can't wait for the next one!

Love the little background story for having your starter. I'm on Wulfric on a dark only run of Y, and I don't have X, so no Houndoom. However my old roommate traded me a shiny houndoom on my AS game like 12 years ago, so I bred it, traded it over and damn! It AND my Froakie had a modest nature off the bat.

So glad you got to use Kingdra! It’s poetic. Humor was on point yet again. Can’t get enough of these videos! Btw did you speed up your talking? Felt a little rushed or fast this time? Maybe just me

It is a really interesting run. However I’d like to share with you what I do in my usual playthroughs just cause I think it may make it more fair for you. In my runs I use a heal item if enemy used one (full restore if they used it or max potion etc.) otherwise it just looks unjust as enemy can use a item and you can’t. Anyways greet video ^^

Somehow I always end up looking forward to your sponsor messages, I've yet to see any other KZreadr integrate a necessity like that into an amusing part of the video. Loved the run, shame about the ending, but it's not that surprising seeing as how little you had to work with. Kudos for even trying this and making it that far! How about a Sun/Moon run next? Any reason why you're avoiding those games?

I started a new Ruby run just for the heck of it. Caught me a Zigzagoon and named it HM Master cuz I didn’t wanna it to be a slave anymore lol but watching this video again and seeing that you also named your Zigzagoon HM Master got me shook!

my reasoning for dragons leveling up so late was always because dragons are very long live so that's just a natural time for that stage
