Well, I actually appreciate them for this wonderful topic but I think I have a slight different opinion, his yes can be no when that promise or yes is centered on conditions . For instance, we can see a statement like "if" if, is a conditional statement so for his yes to remain yes, you must work according to that rules. If is in marriage, I think is when one is not aligning to God's commands e.g when one is not accepting the person because of one reason or the other. Another one is because of mercy just like the case of Hezekiah and Nineveh

Can God's yes becomes no? Well, it depends on the type or nature of the promise. Some promises of God are conditional, which means that the fulfillment of the promise is predicate on the obedience of the person or people involve. And some promises are unconditional, which means that the promise will come to pass no matter what. So, it depends on the nature or type of promise. We see these two types of promises throughout the Bible.

Hi TED, What an amazing topic of discussion. It's thoughtful. God bless you. I hope it's not too late but I'm just watching the video. Can God's 'Yes' become a 'No'? Straight answer. No! There is a condition to God's word. He made this known to His servant Moses. Deuteronomy 28:1-14 talks about the promise of blessing to the children of Israel IF they obey the commandments of God. Likewise, Deuteronomy 28:15-68 talks about the consequences of disobeying God's commandments. Therefore, when a man expects God's promise of blessing and falls short in the process, he will reap the consequences. Just as God said. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Revelations 22:13 He never changes His word. God is compassionate. If God says He will destroy a sinner or a nation who sins, God is so compassionate that He will not destroy IF the sinner or nation comes to REPENTANCE. 2 Kings chapter 18 - 20, Jonah chapter 1 - 4. I hope you now understand that God is compassionate and His word never changes. I pray that at the end of our race in this world, we will make heaven even as we continue to walk in His righteousness and holiness in Jesus' name. Amen. May God's grace be sufficient for us all. God bless you.

Thanks to you TED for this important lesson today. But I'll like to ask, concerning the things that can make God's yes become a no, your emphasis seems to revolve round about sin. But how about Hezekiah when God sent Isaiah to him that he was going to die. He turned to God in prayers and God later increased his days. Also king Ahab, the Lord was ready to punish him for his sins but when he became penitent his punishment was deferred. Please I need yoy to throw more light on these exceptions. Thanks for the good work you are doing. May God continue to bless you.
