Love your video.. Love your showing of it. Here's what I'm thinking of: Dual acting cylinder, with rams on each end,, hoppers on both sides.. (opposing crush!) Pressure-switch regulated to throw the detent..a helper to load hoppers, automatic release of end plate (to poop out the block) - probably controlled by a counter, or limit switch hooked to a relay..or even just manually-run.. um, um.. another helper to tie off the blocks with aluminum wire..and reset the end plates? haha

Awesome job! I like how you designed it.I was thinking the almost exact same style of crusher.I think I might copy your design if you don't mind.I could pull the skid loader up behind the shop and hook it up to power it so a dedicated power supply isn't required.I really like the feed hopper also.

question, do you go to a smelting plant with your aluminum? my dad used to know people that would save up the cans long enough and take them straight to the smelters. sounds like they often paid better then the local buyers.

I like it. I also like the intro. Funny. The following are not criticisms. Just suggestions that popped into my head as I watched. I realize I did not make this and have no idea WTF I'm talking about. :) Just adding commentary. The only thing I can say is that it needs to be fully automated. Pile the cans up in the hopper, flip the switch and the machine does the rest. You just need to add the cans to the hopper. Perhaps had a hopper shaker to keep them darned can's from getting stuck. Then pull the bale out in the end. I'm going to go watch that video now. Thanks for sharing!

This is really cool, not gonna lie, might be an awesome machine for a big club or maybe after a large public event? Would be really cool to see you demo this with plastic bottles. What becomes of say 250 - 500 2 liter bottles. Now, what I think would be really awesome would be a can & bottle crusher that would be compact & fully engineered for home use that crushes on demand. Probably about 99% of homes regularly drink beverages that come in recyclable plastic bottles as well as cans.

That's a good job. The scrap yard I go to bought one that's fed by a conveyor belt that brings it up to something that kicks out any steel, then after that it's just like yours, I bet they spend a bit more than you have into yours, it was probably 10 or 15 grand. Your looks more heavy duty. They stack them on a pallet, till they get about a 4' square cube, then band them to the pallet.

I bought an old log spliter for $850.00 and fixed it up. Made a box adapter for the wedge and added the hopper for about $150.00. It came with Motor, ram, control valve, mounted on wheels and a trailer hitch. Altogether it cost about $1000.00 and it's mobile. WTF makes yours worth three time that ($3500.00.) ??
