the "three gunas" are the octave (sattva), Perfect Fifth (rajas) and Perfect Fourth (tamas). Classical Indian music recognizes that the Perfect Fourth is NOT an overtone of the root tonic and so a drone with a perfect fourth above creates a root tonic below. Whereas a Perfect Fifth IS an overtone of the root tonic. This is called "noncommutative phase" logic in music theory. Watch Fields Medal math professor Alain Connes lecture on noncommutative music and you understand the secret of classical Indian music as the secret unified field theory of reality. This same truth is found in Daoism and also nonwestern music theory. ONLY Western music tries to contain the infinite vibration as symmetric geometry using equal-tempered music to create logarithms and exponentials, etc. This is a "deep pre-established disharmony" that is the "guiding evoltive principle" of Western science (math professor Luigi Borzacchini). thanks

The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. Love love

Nama Shivaya! Spontaneous nada yoga was how my spiritual awakening started. Knowing that each (it will be less overwhelming if you start with the traditional 7) chakra is, or can be, associated with a tone, a color, a vowel sound (and thus particular harmonics), and a position in or around the body, one can tone (sing/hum) into/from the chakra--with awareness of it being situated along an axis running from the center of the Earth to the outermost heavens--"wiggle" the sound around, and release whatever snurgles are ready to be released from that chakra. While there are traditional color, sound, and vowel associations, this is actually an experimental, experiential and exploratory process. So you can start with the traditional mapping, but allow your inner experience to modify it. You especially want to emphasize the harmonics associated with the given vowel sound. So for instance, the lowest chakra has vowel sound "o," red light, and the deepest pitch in your range...but if you feel any of those shifting as you "tone in," then go with the flow. Once you have a sense of completion with that (probably several minutes, but don't rush), move up to the next chakra. Top chakra should be at the highest pitch in your range. When finished with all the chakras--or if you have to stop prematurely--do a vocal slide from the bottom to top of your range as quickly as possible, then back down again, as many times as you like. This exercise has the effect of opening you up to a realm of physical and para-physical perception that's part of your genetic heritage, your prarabda (sp?) karma, a realm to which the relentless machinations of your everyday cognition keep you asleep. Since it's so invigorating, it makes the prospect of further spiritual development less terrifying. It is also much more effective than simply listening to somebody else's music.

Beautifully explained! Loved it. I have one question though. If we have 54 chakras on either side (Pingla and Ida Nadis ), to add up to the 108 active chakras then where are the 7 main chakras being counted? I thought they were right in the middle, in the Sukshma Nadi.

Music? You mean gravitational waves. Of course this can happen. Each one of us would be different in a way. Our locations of origin at our moment of interfacing to this current journey, birth, would play a role. It does not mean that we can't tune ourselves into different paths. Even ones half way across the world. There are songs the universe play that bind us all. Life is amazing. Thank you for being you Sadhguru. I once heard a song so old, I had to share it with everyone.
