    Vancouver seems like a perfectly built team to handle oilers, couple of good shutdown centers, enough attack to outscore, sizeable defensive play makers, amazing goal tending. But OIlers are a very deep team, there defense is underrated, goalie look good. Damn this is going to be a good series.

    @@ObscureReference9 That is usually a comment of a person who doesn't watch Oilers. 3rd line and 4th line quite strong while Sam Gagner and Connor brown are on the bench. That's a deep team. 3rd pairing of defense ( Kulak and Desharnais) is depth!

    @ObscureReference9 Well, they're definitely not the league's best defense. They certainly aren't the worst either. Edmonton's defense has improved this season, may actually be the best so far (for Edmonton). The Oilers forwards contribute on the defensive side more as well, something I believe Paul Coffee has instilled in the team. I don't think it's going to be a series sweep for either side but, Vancouver definitely have their hands full. That being said, my weird top two favorite teams happen to be Edmonton and Vancouver. So I guess whoever wins for me it's a win/win situation lol. I'd love to see either a Edmonton vs Carolina match or a Vancouver vs Boston match. Be great either way lol😊

    Yes they can. Demko is great but silovs and desmith are very capable.

  • @OKmoomer
    @OKmoomer23 күн бұрын

    I mean, the real question is "does Silovs have what it takes to play against an offensive juggernaut like Edmonton?" We've seen him already do so much in his early 20's, but he can really make a name for himself as the next Cam Ward if he does the improbable and carries Vancouver to an upset here. Canucks have been one of the best defensive teams all year long -- right up there with the likes of the Hurricanes and the Stars. They've shown that they win games because they only rely on their goalie to bail them out when they absolutely have to. Aside from a few blunders, Vancouver's defense was super clean from all 18 skaters throughout the entire series and the real issue was with special teams and offensive production. If those two areas get addressed properly before Game 1 and the defense remains robust, this should be a long series regardless of who shows up in net.

Even now the odds on every sports betting app or whatever are in Edmontons favor to win the series. Nobody is expecting the Canucks to make it past Edmonton to the western conference final or to make it to play for the cup. Go on keep underestimating the Canucks. We'll see what happens.

    Skinner isn’t as good as Saros. Oilers’ defence isn’t as tight as the Preds. There’ll definitely be more room for Canucks to make something happen. Also, I doubt the Oilers will be sacrificing their bodies, blocking shots like Nashville did. 30+ blocked shots in Game 2 I think. Insane. Regardless, series could still go either ways.

    Patrick Roy was so good as a rookie. Right from the start he was great. Not sure if one can put Silovs at that level unless he takes the team to the cup. This series like Nashville will be super even. I can see the Oilers win a game or two outright, but in the end could easily go 7 games. Much to me depends on how the games are called. The refs can win it or lose it for the Canucks. No phantom or cheap calls. Dryden was different than Roy. He did not look as good, but rarely lost. Was solid and played his angles well.. Was great by the end of the season. He looked like he was in his tenth season. Like a vetran player.

Demko might steal a game or two but the number one game deciding game plan willbe to shut down Quinn Hughes. PERIOD. Quinn Hughes is involved in literally every single Canucks goal whether he gets a point or not. If they shut down Hughes they will win , if not it will be close. Oilers propaganda...that is going to backfire totally...for gods sakes the Oilers brought in guys like Kane and Perry and Carrick and other lunkheads with serious discipline problems thinking they would have to fight through ugly rough house physical games.....the Oilers are truly behind the times and NHLs Evolution, Mcdavid has stopped them from Evolving, there ARE NOT going to be any Neanderthal Teams winning the Stanley Cup for another 20 years. The NHL has just evolved into a NewAge of exciting high energy Offense....nobodies going back to make the Oilers and Mcdavid slap-happy...time moves on....the Oilers failed to do that and are now stuck with a Group of problem-child misfits who are prone to bonehead plays regularly.

If they watched the Oilers this year, it's a different story. Yes, the Oilers are not the top defensive team in the NHL. But, they certainly aren't mediocre or the lowest either. Edmonton can play the high scoring game, but can play the tight defensive game as well. This year's Oilers are a more mature playoff veteran team.
