Sanchez is always fantastic, but I'm always impressed by how good of an interviewer Collin is. At 12:30 Collin clearly wants to make a point about the importance of the deep ball at the NFL level but realizes that Sanchez is moving on to a super detailed, high-energy film breakdown so trying to get his question in would just mess with the pacing of the interview. After a great back and forth interview for the rest of the show, Collin doesn't say a word for 3 minutes because he's letting Sanchez shine. Great segment!

Darnold and Mayfield both played on the 2022 Panthers, below are a comparison of their performances in games in which they started. BAKER MAYFIELD Starts: 6 Passing TD: 4 Rushing TD: 1 INT: 6 FMB: 5 Passing YDS: 1,158 Rushing YDS: 52 Total YDS: 1,210 Pass Attempts: 186 Rush Attempts: 16 Record: 1W - 5L (Mayfield appeared in 1 additional game against the Bengals, coming in during the top of the 3rd quarter and down by 35 points (some would call this “garbage time”). He threw for 2 TD, 0 INT, and 155 YDS. The Panthers lost: 21-42) SAM DARNOLD Starts: 6 Passing TD: 7 Rushing TD: 2 INT: 3 FMB: 6 Passing YDS: 1,143 Rushing YDS: 106 Total YDS: 1,249 Pass Attempts: 140 Rush Attempts: 26 Record: 4W - 2L (During Baker Mayfield’s time as a 2022 Panther, Christian McCaffery played in 5 out of 6 Mayfield starts, and DJ Moore played in 6 out of 6 Mayfield starts. During Sam Darnold’s time as a 2022 Panther, Christian McCaffery played in 0 out of 6 Darnold starts, and DJ Moore played in 6 out of 6 Darnold starts) Based on these stats, I believe people are heavily undermining the ability of Darnold especially when compared to Mayfield. We have an identical sample size for these two players who were on the same team in the same year, and people look over it. Darnold can absolutely have a major year on the Vikings, given what Mayfield did on the Bucs.

Not sure why everyone is so hyped on Drake maye. Dude has a lot of talent but is so unrefined and his accuracy is pretty bad when you watch film. His feet in the pocket are horrible, he has a long throwing motion, very inaccurate probably due to his horrible feet. His best attributes are his strong arm and his improv but that's not enough to win in the NFL. He needs to go somewhere he can sit for a few years to refine his mechanics.

Brett Favre wouldn’t have made it without patience. Mike Holmgren never pulled him, the team didn’t give up on him. He had some rough games, and threw a bunch of interceptions. He didn’t have the luxury of sitting for 3 years. I look at how QBs get thrown in right away, then they struggle and the team changes the coach or coordinator and the struggles continue. You have to give a guy time, having the same coaches and system offers stability and cohesion. Darnold is in an endless loop now, Minnesota is going to draft a guy and Darnold will wind up being a placeholder again.

I like Maye alot but i think 4-6 years from now Penix jr and Rattler will be the star Qbs of this class. Kinda how Trevor Lawrence the only surving Qb of his class.

Jury still out on Mac Jones. He was in a lose-lose situation in New England. Kid took Pats to playoffs rookie year, and selected to the Pro Bowl. Then Belichick hires a defensive coordinator to be Mac’s offensive coordinator his sophomore season and Mac regresses, as we would expect. He loses his confidence and ends up having a subpar Sophomore season, and an even worse third season. Now Mac has new life in J’ville, his hometown, where his family still resides. The Prince hasn’t been living up to the hype either, since he was drafted #1 overall in the same draft class as Mac. Trevor needs to start playing more consistently or he could lose his starter job to Mac if he shows no improvement.

As a Bears fan, I would love to trade down to Washington (both second rounders and next years #1) and take Drake Maye. That's not gonna happen. The race card issue is too much to deal with.
