Can Bearded Dragons Eat MEALWORMS?
Do meal worms REALLY cause impaction in bearded dragons? Or do they make good feeder insects? Over the years, we have successfully raised healthy bearded dragons on diets that included meal worms. In this video, we will debunk false theories surrounding meal worms, and their effects on our beloved scaly pets. Thanks for watching!

This video is absolutely correct.
I also fell victim to the mealworm story. But I always found it weird that supposedly they can't digest mealworms, but the exoskeletons of crickets and roaches are fine.
Finally an informative video about beardies. I've been feeding mealworms as a part of their diet for 5 different beardies for 16-17 years and I've never had any impaction issues. It's so weird how this has somehow become a truth among owners. There's so many first time owners that are unnecessarily super nervous and being constantly nervous takes away all the enjoyment that beardies give.
The whole impaction argument, not just food related but even substrate related, is really starting to shift. We’ve found out over the years the main cause of impaction is usually related to other husbandry issues. Such as heat and even sometimes humidity issues within the cage. Great video and great info!
I love that you guys are giving good advice, some Facebook groups try to inform people with the wrong info and I tried to post a link to your video and they deleted my comment 🤦♀️
The most awesome and most informative channel on KZread. Y’all have reduced my stress 100 fold.
My Bearded dragon has been eating mealworms and kingworms for quite a while, and he is okay!
Thank you so much man I’m getting my first bearded dragon in a few weeks and was wondering about mealworms! Very helpful!
Thank you so much for this video! I was not sure what to believe. I had heard so much about this and that. Now I can finally feel comfortable feeding my dragon mealworms! Thank you!!✨
It would be awesome if you could do a walk round/ “how to” video on how you have the rack set up behind you and also what lighting you use etc. I’m considering building one similar myself for my hatchling beardies, as it would save a lot a space, rather than having a ton of enclosures
Thank you SO MUCH. I have been SO CONFUSED about this whole debate as I've been researching for my new baby ill be getting next week.
Thank you for the video and I tell people when they do research on any reptile that they should get multiple different sources so that they don't get bad information
Thank you for providing such great and detailed information! I have my first bearded dragon and want to make sure she's in tip top shape!!
Thank you for being so nice to your viewers
Sad that we live in a world where ppl believe every single thing they hear on the internet. Mealworms have been a part of my Burts diet for a long time. He is 7 years old now. Never had a problem with mealworms. ALong with certain greens ppl claim will kill your dragon. Mine eat a variety of Greens, fruits & veggies with insects daily. My oldest is 9 years old. Apparently I am doing something RIGHT!! There are some ppl who get a beardie then google info and claim they are experts online lol. Thanks for another amazing video
THANK YOU!!!!! I set up a mealworm "farm" that is now going like crazy. I was really unhappy to think I was going to have to throw them out!!
Thanks for making it clear ✌
I never believed the meal worm thing, mine loves them and he is nice and healthy :)
I knew it had to be a myth when the same guy telling me they can't have mealworms but they should have superworms....
I love your videos they're so helpful thanks!
