Especially since it works more than once with Ash. Still bummed we never saw primeape again. Right after winning a fighting Pokémon tournament, he gets sidelined

I'll still die on the hill saying that DP was this series at arguably it's best. Best girl, Dawn. Best bro, Brock. Best rival, Paul. Best pokemon, Infernape. The only thing that sucks is it was also the best at cheating Ash of a league victory with Tobias.

I can't wait till you get to Alola and win like you're supposed to. It's by far my favorite season. Everything else felt like a fun adventure. Alola....Alola felt like home.

“My bike; it’s extra crispy!” It’s been many years, and I mean many, since I watched Diamond & Pearl, and that line STILL catches me off guard. I can’t help it but laugh. It’s so cringy yet so funny at the same time.

Diamond and Pearl was my favorite saga of the anime

Definitely some dope battles at the end. I think subtracting filler episodes, Kalos May have had the best battles of all though.

Awesome video, my favourite of Ash's Sinnoh Pokemon is also Infernape, he had such a tough backstory with Paul but he eventually grew strong enough to defeat him as an absolute beast, one of my favourite battles in the anime, great job Joe!

Paul really shot himself in the foot abandoning Chimchar. And that was after forcing him to battle without properly resting (going against Nurse Joy’s advice) and forcing him to battle a Zangoose (a Pokémon that traumatized Chimchar). On top of that, he gave up on Chimchar mid-battle despite the fact that he caused the situation to happen. And despite thousands of people watching the battle, he never got so much as a boo let alone extreme hatred from the crowds. Yeah, Paul really didn’t deserve Chimchar.

@@NuzlockeJoe I understand, thanks! One more thing, don't you think gen 3 in the anime is totally bugged? I mean, Shadow ball hits normal Type all the time, man lots of non-sense that drive me crazy! And also they call hyper beam solar beam instead so often! Even more, lots of non-sense battles too, like May's skitty being stronger than howndoom's flamethrower! Man, I gotta say, gen 3 games are nice, but the anime really goes beyond crazy, they even give Ash the power to fly hahhahaha

I plan on continuing into gen 5, but I haven’t even begun to look at gen 5 Rom hacking. I understand it’s way different from gen 4. In the meantime, check out the ash playlist for more videos like this one!

Excited for black & white version. You should use a lvl 100 pikachu and somehow lose to a lvl 5 snivy

I love how Brandon outright lectures both Ash and Paul on their issues in battling.

Got technician, I like the moves bug bite berry steal, and ariel ace boosted power never miss, tailwind use b4 switching out, and roost/something else Goes well with a stall like toxic gliscor and late sweep iron fist infernape empoleon for a off start and maybe ttar for extra tankiness

Yep, I remember that quite well!

Dawn's rival Ursula used her Gabite in every on-screen contest she competed in, making Gabite her ace. And Cynthia's Garchomp is Cynthia's ace for many reasons after all, so Ash's Gible was in a bit of a odd spot with how it could be written in Sinnoh League Victors. All Gible was is a late-game powerhouse with a uncontrolable Draco Meteor that had a gimmick with always hitting Piplup… Until it miraculously mastered it against Conway in the third round of the Sinnoh League, knocking out his Shuckle and Dusknoir.

Love this series! Really curious what you plan to do with Unova, since Ash's Journey is so different from the games in that region. I wish there was a way to modify Black and White 2 to start in Nuvema Town, but thats way too much work for this series in my opinion. Can probably get away with just swapping out Iris for Roxie at the end of White or something like that. Although, that might mess up the earlier story events with Iris. Curious how you'll handle it! Also, side note, there is a hack of Pokémon X called Pokémon Ash Z, and it changes Gym Leader Teams and catch locations to help build Ash's team. I even think the Champion is changed to Alain in that one. So I recommend looking into that one when you finally get to Kalos.

Yeah I'm not sure. I haven't begun looking at gen 5 rom hacking, but I understand its very different from Gen 4, so I have no idea how difficult things like that might be. That's a really good tip about Kalos though, I'll have to keep it in mind.

So… is white next? I only say that cause that’s the game ya fight iris, and cilan if Oshawott is replaced with Pikachu. Then again white 2 had Roxie, but like she was the last gym leader in the anime, which made less sense. And Hilbert already looks a LOT like ash. Unova is certainly a hard one for me to predict.

Of course Ash could beat Cynthia; he had a better shot than most players since he had TWO fully evolved Sinnoh starters, Gliscor and Staraptor. The ONLY Pokémon holding him back (stat-wise) were Buizel, Pikachu and Gible.

Had he chosen his team a bit better Ash might have won against Tobias. Pikachu, Sceptile and Heracross were the best choices out of the six.

In the anime torterra was trash and here it was the boss!!!

You almost lost to Crasher Wake while Ash didn't lose a single Pokémon in that gym battle. Anime Ash managed to surpass Nuzlocke Joe at least once, which was very surprising. Edit: It happened with Fantina too.

Honestly, I feel like torterra never really got a change to shine. As a turtwig he did pretty well, but after evolving and becoming slow, he kinda got sidelined IMO. But I do like torterra as a pokemon for sure.

13:30 feel like you focused too much on be story accurate to the anime and you tried to not to sweep everything but losing to fantina is crazy and shouldn’t happen

I mean losing to fantina sucked, but she had a gengar and mismagious. Since Ash used a pikachu, chimchar, and buizel for that fight, it was inevitably going to be more difficult.

Yeah that was disappointing. I don't know where I saw it, but at some point I saw a ratio of turtwig's wins to losses before and after evolving. After evolving, he really did suck
