Can antipsychotic medications cause mania?
Ғылым және технология
Some people have told me that they developed psychosis or mania after taking antipsychotic medications. Is is possible for medications that are supposed to reduce psychosis or mania might actually cause those symptoms?
There are more than 80 case reports in the medical literature describing the onset or worsening of mania after the use of modern antipsychotic drugs.

My son is 22 and has been manic since June. He has been on zyprexa and abilify for 4 years. His Dr doubled his doses on both and he's gotten sooo much worse.

very similar thing, doubled dose olanzapine makes things much more worse
This is a dirty secret not often discussed. Also I wonder if Japan has a better system to test new drugs versus existing drugs. Placebo control alone should just be one step.
You know for me this question is irrelevant by the fact that it is neurotoxic poison. Even if they will not cause mania on every human, they for sure cause big damage for brain and whole body.
