I need to practice my violin....I've been in an incredible depression....I was gifted this beautiful acpustic/electric violin for christmas!! My goal is by the end of next year to have played a modified version of the opera song from The Fifth Element, "Il Dolce Suono"

You did another video that mentioned (and showed) a different "electric tuning fork" pedal. For those of us who play in bands that play Stevie Ray Vaughn or the singer needs a funky key different from the original, these pedals allow us to play original key fingerings but sound as needed for the singer, or to play an easier key fingering but still sound as the recordings.

I remember playing a viola one of you guys in the shop converted with cello strings and run through a terrific bass amp. He called it a chin cello and I was convinced!

Hey, I wanna buy for myself an electric violin but I don't know which one I should buy. There are so many different ones! Is there any you would recommend for ? I would like to have one for the stage so it should be compatible with an amplifier and I also wanna have the option to change the sound with the mixer of the amp. Thank you 🙈

Just how many string variants are there? And is this exclusive to electric violins? How much more expensive are they to the regular 4 string violins?

There are electric versions of all the main orchestral string instruments, violin, viola, cello, and bass. I have an electric cello, and while good ones aren't cheap, they are usually significantly less expensive than the equivalent acoustic instruments. Quality acoustic violins, violas, cells, and double basses are obscenely expensive.

People have tried adding more than 4 strings to acoustic violins, but it was too quiet, because the sound chamber on a violin is too small. Electric violins don't have that problem, since they use amps, so you can just increase the gain as much as you want. So electric violins can have as many strings as you want.

How many strings? What's your budget? Do you want one that looks pretty traditional of do you want something more contemporary?
