Damn you heard that, and here I was trying to cover it up to not get a copyright claim lol. But yeah, working on your car on a warm summer evening while listening to citypop is what life is all about.

@@Zakis_wonderful_world I honestly don't think it'd get picked up by content ID, since it's really faint. I just caught a whiff of city pop and had to replay that section over and over to see if I could place it. Friggin love city pop, if you need any recs then I gotchu man. Love the vids btw.

This has been a huge help as I am currently fully restoring my e36 coupe, like you I have opted for the M54b30. I was under the impression that the original mounts do fit into the e36 chassis, also have you used the m54 alternator? Great work by the way, this is the best m54 video I have watched and probably like others I have watched them all!

I'm happy to hear that you find the videos useful. Comments like these really make my day. Regarding the mounts, passenger's side mount from an e36 should fit. The driver's side however is a bit of problem, maybe a mount from a rwd e46 would fit (don't quote me on this, I might be wrong). But if you want an easy solution, I recommend these mounts that my friend makes (skid-shop.com/products/nosilci-motorja) these fit on m50, m52 and m54 and have all the oem holes on them (for the ground wire and the powersteering reservoir on m50). And yes I used the m54 alternator.

@@Zakis_wonderful_world nice man! I also have a m50b20 in my e36 compact. It is indeed not so fast but it is bulletproof. The b30 really is an upgrade tho.

@@alexandrusamirciobanu9517 that's so cool, m54b30 has more power but it's not as durable as the m50, but oh well, I need that power. If you're ever gonna be doing a swap like this, hit me up if you have any questions and I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.

for the o2 sensor issue you could use a 90 degree o2 sensor defouler. it should clear the motor mount

Interesting, I didn't even know that these were a thing. It could probably work, however I've already found a different o2 sensor which should have the same calibration and installed it. The car starts and runs fine. Still have to take it for a test drive though. Video next sunday :)

I used the driveshafts out of an e36 325i/328i (type 188) I have one set that's the bigger diameter and hollow and another one that's smaller diameter but full. I think the smaller diameter ones are currently in the car...
