Can Amateur Riders take on the Fort William World Cup DH Track? Crazy Pro Downhill Mountain Biking!

Спорт

THE FORT WILLIAM DOWNHILL WORLD CUP TRACK IS NO JOKE, ITS CRAZY HOW FAST THE PROFESSIONALS GET DOWN THIS TRACK.
In this video you will see our first hand experience of the world cup DH track at fort william, just a week prior to the UCI world cup being held here.
If you manage to get over to Fort William, make sure to check out World Cup Track because these rock slabs, drops, and broadwalks all make this track the dream for any mountain biker, you don't get this sort of riding anywhere other than the thick of the Scottish Highlands.
Hopping out of the broadwalk at speed was a feeling I wont forget any time soon, right up until the rock garden hits you where it hurts!
Having trust in my poor little trail bike, taking a good thumping on these rock drops, it shows its is certainly capable enough to handle the drops on this track!
Just getting down the slabs on offer on this track was such an unreal feeling, never mind the pace we carried through them!
This place was Mountain Bike Meca, I am already planning my next trip back up there with my bike!
This weekend was crazy, being able to fly down the world cup downhill track & Top Chief at the Nevis range was certainly an eye opener and made me realise how good the pro's actually are!
Now my poor Mountain bike is suffering... thank fully I invisiframed it cos it was rough out there!
More videos on the way so stay tuned for the footage from this weekend!

Fair play lads. I went down in 2008 on an enduro (Kona) and learnt a lot about my limitations and the bike’s. Haven’t been since: must go now 🎉 Thanks 😊

Good effort lads🤘 Rode that trail once a few years back on the Trek Remedy rental bike. Was not fun! And they reckon they tamed it down in the last couple years? Did they buggery!😅😅

It's perfectly rollable on any bike, what makes it difficult is doing it at speed as the consequences of falling off are bad.

Oh it certainly does. Serious hand and arm pump. Sore hands braking all the time, and from the length of the track. You can't appreciate how long it is for videos or race clips. I've ridden on my Vitus Sommet 170 mm and a Transition DH bike. My Enduro Vitus was more than capable, but the DH bike being heavier and factor in my first ever two runs and my skills or lack of at pure DH I had to hold the DH bike back. Nevertheless missing out the stream gap nothing most capable mtbers can't do.

Why not ? It’s more than rideable on a regular trail or enduro bike. Just comes with limitations.
