EDIT: I tried the mod once again with one of my other batteries. Everything seemed perfect but when I placed the battery in the drone to charge it, the battery leds kept flashing over and over.
soulvagabond in the comments mentioned a forum where others have tried doing battery mods. Basically the issue is that the battery can not be disconnected from the board otherwise the whole battery will brick. The battery protection board must be "hot" or always connected otherwise it sends a message to the board that it needs maintenance from DJI. Doing a battery mod for this drone would be much easier and safer if an external battery is hooked up to the drone instead. Messing with the OEM batteries will just be an expensive mistake like what I did. I will try next to add a battery connector to the drone and test it out with an external battery pack Velcroed to the top of the drone. STAY TUNED! Thanks for your patience!
