For the most part, mine can. This one. Our current, Levi, is usually ok when left alone, but if I leave small garbage bins down, he will empty them. He doesn’t howl while we are gone. Our previous beagle, Dolly, had to be crated or she did tear up our house. Both would definitely go into hound dog howl mode if they are inside and we are outside. If my Levi can smell us, he does get hound dog howl upset.

Beagles are great when home alone. After a few times alone they stop acting naughty, they mostly walk around sniff check for a open door then take a good nap. They repeat process many times.

Just make sure your garbage is guarded like Fort Knox.

I just got a two year old full breed beagle from a family friend for free and I'm grateful but, our family leaves 6+ hours 5 days a week and at first we put her in a crate, not too big but not small enough for her to be uncomfortable ( she is as small as a puppy all the time ) but she tore through the bars, the next day she broke the door down and then the next ( after we replaces the wooden bars with metal) she started to chew the bars out. The next day we tried leaving her out and about though out the house and she did great and slept all day.

I didn’t have a beagle but I have a dog who passed away a year ago. We didn’t crate her unless she was in the car with us. As a puppy she had seperation anxiety, only once did she break something. Our family either worked full time or were at school. Idk how but after a while when she grew up her anxiety got better. Now me and my partner are looking to get a dog, and we have been thinking about a beagle cause it’s the perfect size for us and my strength. But he works 10 hours a day and I’m trying to get a full time job close by, meaning 6-8 hours. I’m really scared on how this will affect a dog :( We really want one, and when i get home I will focus all my attention on the dog but i’m still sceptical.

So I have a beagle mix and every time one of us leaves the houes [even if there some there] they start acting up and begin to howl stuff. Who would I train it to show that even we leave that they should not worry?

Is it a problem if I left alone my dog just for a day
