▬ About MDT ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
MDT was born out of a single purpose: to provide better value and better accuracy for precision rifles. The first MDT chassis was developed from the ground up based on the needs of shooters.
Our engineers verified every function and feature based on the input from competitive shooters. The end result was a game-changing product called the TAC21 that continues to perform at the range, in the field and in competitions around the world.
Today, MDT chassis, magazines and accessories are still developed the same way.
We collaborate, question and verify our concepts with precision shooters from around the globe to ensure that every MDT product is designed with the same single purpose: to provide our customers with the absolute best product possible.

    The bullet will go 2,000 yards as long as you shoot it at the right angle and have enough barrel for acceleration. Hitting the target is the hard part.

    2000 yards is a hard shot for anyone. I managed to score a first shot hit at 2000 with pure luck in an ELR competition earlier this year. That was my only hit at that distance too. All my remaining shots were misses, as were all my 2200 yard shots. I shoot 6.5x55 out of a tikka in an MDT ESS chassis. My rounds go subsonic at 1200 yards, so 300 prc would be a big upgrade for me.

    @@farmerbrown84 With a 6 mil (~20 moa) base and a 6 mil rail, I get about 28 mil of elevation in my scope. IIRC, I needed about 33 mils for the 1850m (~2000 yard) shot, so about 5 mils of holdover in the reticle. For the 2023m (~2200 yard) shot, I measured the top of a tree to be almost exactly 10 mils above the plate, and used that as a reference for my holdovers.

    Its much easier with these affordable chassis systems available today. I dont have a "range" anywhere near me, and only 500-600 yards at home to shoot. On a budget, i found a Savage Axis II Precision at a pawn shop for 700.00, put a out of date (overall bad) Millet scope on it, sited in @ 100, hit the steel 8" plate @500 yards easily. Of course that rifle came with the MDT chassis system from Savage. (Oh, the rifle is chambered in what fans of the caliber call the 6.5 Manbun)

    I feel your pain with the factory 225 eld-m. I had GA precision build me a 300 PRC before hornady had ammo on shelves. When I first took it to the range I had an ES of 120 fps in 1 box. Average over 20 boxes was in the high 80's. 4 different lots of ammo, 400 rounds and I've only ever had the factory eld-m shoot an ES under 60 fps for 1 box. I could only get the es down into the high 20's with hornady brass. I'm getting 12 fps pretty regular with Atlas Development Group brass. Shooting anything at that distance with that ammo is a feat, congratulations!

    When I shoot my howa 1500 .243 its pretty accurate the first 8 rounds then it starts moving on me. Not alot but I'm not shooting at 2000 yards

    Appreciate what you have done here and I do understand this video is about advertising MDT products, however if i were trying to accurately shoot 2000 yards with a $2000 package the LAST thing i would consider is an MDT chassis system. I can buy a heavy barrelled Savage or Tikka that will probably shoot better than the Howa with a light barrel and not have to spend $500 or $600 on a chassis. Just saying.

    Well I'm sure they didn't HAVE to throw it in a chassis anyway. But they are MDT... it'd be kinda odd seeing a video from them if it had no chassis. That "better gun" you would choose would do well with a chassis as well. They just wanted to do it cheaper AND with a chassis.

  • @8ballphilc

    @8ballphilc

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@OvertonWindex That is precisely my point, they didn't do it cheaper with a chassis. The chassis only adds cost with very little accuracy benefit. I will absolutely guarantee that I can buy a heavy barrelled Savage model 10 for less money than the Howa used plus the complete chassis system. I would also bet that i can get the heavy barrelled Savage to shoot smaller groups at all ranges using only the factory stock as compared to the light barrelled Howa in the chassis. However, that is not what this video is about.

    I moved close too Bonneville power lines. Very loud gun shot reveals couple guys shooting very expensive rifle with carbon fiber barrel, shooting, upright plywood target at 2000+yds. So far guys using a quad too drive too target. After they left with their $ gun, I got put my very cheap an old salvage 110, 7mm, an nailed that target. So yes my cheap gun shoot as well as very expensive rifle.
