Harold Wilson honestly threatened a newly-independent and sovereign nation with invasion and many of the British SAS said they would incite rebellion in Britain. This didn't stop The UK from undermining everything Rhodesia was doing.

The old George the Third mentality no matter how you are. I think that SA, Rhodesia, Namibia and Zambia could have become with the time some kind of United States of Southern Africa that with the time would have developed a larger sense of cooperation and intercommunication improving over time the rights and economic and social situation of all its different population groups under the rule of a single constitution and a single law for all regardless of their race. Truly there were the conditions to have founded a United States in the South of Africa... and as always by becoming independent from the British.

@@alejandrosotomartin9720 The whole reason for Rhodesia's existence was because they didn't want that in 1923. They didn't want to be in a Union with a majority-Afrikaner speaking nation where they felt they'd be disadvantaged for being majority English speaking. Nor did they want to be in that Federal union with Zambia in the 50s because they felt they were subsidising Zambia.
